  1. Damn, it's still messed up when I use an old project as a template. 😞 But thanks for the suggestion.
  2. That's right, it started with 10.8. I've updated to OS 14.1.1 (from 14.1), but it was having the same problems before that. No other changes to my setup. Strangely, the problem only seems to be in newly created projects – if I open a project that was created in the previous Logic version, everything's fine.
  3. No, nothing running in the background. (But thanks for your suggestion.)
  4. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately changing the resolution didn't change anything. Sx
  5. Thanks for your reply, David. No, I'm not running in Rosetta, and a new user account didn't change anything. Sx
  6. I (perhaps foolishly) updated to 10.8, and am having major problems with recording and playback. I've made a video , but basically nothing seems to be visible on-screen "live". The level meters aren't showing the actual levels. When I record (or play back) the playhead doesn't move – the newly recorded region only appears when I stop recording. (It also behaves the same way when I record a software instrument.) Hitting the "return" key doesn't move the playhead back to the beginning – I have to drag it manually. (I'm in 14.1.1 on an M1 Pro MacBook Pro) Would be very grateful for any help, thanks! Stephen
  7. I've just moved to Logic Pro 10.7.2 on a brand new MacBook Pro 16" (M1 Pro) running MacOS 12.1. Everything's great except that audio periodically drops out. Playback doesn't produce any sound, and software monitoring drops out. If I go to audio prefs and change the output to internal speakers, apply it, and then change it back to input and output via my interface (Scarlett 212) then it's fine – until next time. There's another thread Audio suddenly stops [sOLVED] on a similar subject, but it's marked as solved, and doesn't seem to apply to my problem. It's happened on a couple of different projects, neither of them particularly big, and I'm not running any dodgy plugins. Would be grateful for any help.
  8. Okay, great, it worked (after I finally found out how to find them in the event list!). I guess I'll have to be very careful what I touch on my midi keyboard in future! Thanks for your help! Stephen
  9. Thanks for the tips everyone! Haven't got time to try them out right now, but as soon as I do I'll let you know how I got on! Cheers, Stephen
  10. No, didn't help, sorry. What do the white vertical stripes in the region mean? The volume seems to change when the playhead gets to one of them - don't know how they got there, though.
  11. Doesn't help I'm afraid. I even tried ADDING automation data to override the volume, but it still keeps jumping back up.
  12. One software instrument track in my recording won't let me change its volume. I keep dragging the track's volume fader down but it jumps up to +6 again by itself. All the other tracks are behaving normally. (I'm working with Logic Pro 9 in Mac OSX 10.8.3. I'm new to Logic after years of working in Garageband, so excuse me if the answer's obvious!) I'd be grateful for any help! Thanks, Stephen
  13. Yes I downloaded an update for 10.7 - I have input but no output. But I can get that from the computer - and it's cheaper than buying a new interface. NEARLY visiting the Annie museum was probably a wise move. All the best, Stephen
