  1. I have looked all over my profile settings and control panel but can not see where I can change my email and forum password. Can someone help please?
  2. I just did a clean install of Mavericks and had to reistll the whole of Logic Pro X again. Everything is finally up and running but my 'Musical typing' on screen keyboard was not producing any sounds at all with any instruments. I clicked 'Logic Pro X' / 'Control Surfaces' / Bypass all control surfaces. Now it;s working again.
  3. So i just formatted the drive on my Macbook Pro in order to do a clean install of Mavericks. Everything seem to go well. Logic Pro X is the very first application I wish to install. I install the the main app but when I launch it I get this error message and can proceed no further. http://s13.postimg.org/9373o0r2f/Screen_Shot_2014_05_12_at_11_01_03.jpg How is this possible on a brand new drive that has 450 gigs of free space?
  4. There was actually no Direct Monitor switch on my interface.
  5. The Mixer Control seems to be working fine.. I can hear the guitar through the monitors perfectly. I can also record this sound in Logic. Not sure what I did but it's working now. The DAW tracking link also helped. Much appreciated. Thanks guys.
  6. Can't find where to unable Direct Monitoring in the Mix Control software. There are no preferences, only the screen you see below.
  7. So.. Now trying to record some live guitar in Logic. Guitar is plugged into a Scarlette 6i6 interface and I am getting a good signal in an audio track. But when I try to add say a reverb effect or a guitar amp or pedals they seem to have no effect on the sound of the guitar at all. Changing any of the amp controls for example has any effect on the guitar sound (see screenshot) It remains the same basic dry sound. What could I be doing wrong? Thank you..
  8. Oh no! I can not open that link for some reason. Does that apply to Mavericks only or Mountain Lion as well? (back to the drawing board)
  9. Hi Triplets... I hear that Motu interfaces can be problematic with Macs. I also hear that their customer service and support are appalling. http://forum.cockos.com/archive/index.php/t-22222.html I have been hearing great things about this unit though. Seems to have all i need. Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 http://global.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces/scarlett-6i6
  10. I was hoping for a little more detail than that. There are just too many choices.
  11. Hello all.. I am at the point where I now need an interface and a midi keyboard/controller for my little home setup. I am using a Macbook Pro (2011) and have a firewire and USB connectivity. My intentions are to be able to record live guitar, bass, maybe keyboard and some vocals separately and possibly together at some point. A jazz trio or quartet situation. Drums will be software based. I have about $1,100 (£650) to spend. What might be my best options for an interface and midi keyboard/controller? I'm thinking the interface needs to have firewire/usb/midi connectivity as my Macs spare USB ports look like they could get all used up pretty quickly. Thank you.
  12. Oops.. it was an old copy borrowed from a friend from 2009. That really won't do at all..
