  1. Cool, if you are indeed recording to a stereo track then there's no way Logic will affect the panning of the recorded signal, unless you've done something with input channel strip objects in the environment. If you haven't done anything in the environment and the recorded file is still not retaining the original panning, you'll have to troubleshoot outside Logic. J. Hi J, you were right, I was not recording in stereo. Thanks for pointing that out, I'm new to this type of recording software and didn't realise. I've uploaded an attachment of a sample recording of what I now know was in mono. Thanks again Gary
  2. Thanks for that J, i'm nearly 100% that it is a stereo track that i'm recording but will check to make sure.
  3. Thanks very much for getting back to me, will send a screen shot later when I'm at home again. Don't know where you are in the world but I'm in Northern Ireland so you might not get my response til later.
  4. Hi guys, I am attempting to record a dj mix using logic pro x. The issue that I am having is in relation to recording a 12" oldskool dance track which has a panned vocal. When recording this 12", logic does not replicate or give a true recording of the panned vocal, it basically doesn't pan the vocal at all. I have done various tests using the pan settings to attempt to eliminate any issues but still the problem exists. Can someone please recommend something to rectify the panning issue as I have been unable to find a solution online? Thanks Gary
  5. Thanks for getting back to me, I have done a lot or searching on the internet to find the answer to my problem and I think I may have solved the issue. As mentioned I use an Apogee Duet 2 audio interface to record into logic via my dj set up. I found a thread whereby someone was having a similar issue to mine in relation to phasing. The recommendation that person was given was to turn off monitoring within logic pro as the music was already being monitored within apogee's software - maestro 2. The other piece of advice was to open logic's recording settings, change pan law to 0db and ensure that the apply pan law box is ticked. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
  6. Hi there guys, this is my first post so please bear with me since I am also new to recording software. As the title suggests I am attempting to record my dj set using Logic Pro X. My set up is: 2 x Technics 1210's, 2 x Pioneer CDJ 2000's, Pioneer DJM 800 mixer, Apogee Duet 2 audio interface and a Macbook Pro. The issue I am having is that I am able to record my mix and it sounds ok but when I listen to the mix in my car via my ipod it sounds tinny, the bass is gone, almost as if the mix has been phased. This is also true when I play the mix via my iphone using the iphone's inbuilt speakers. Strangely, I have played this mix via my laptop's inbuilt speakers, via laptop using headphones and via my ipod using headphones but the mix sounds fine. Can anyone shed any light as to why my mix only sounds distorted when played via car's sound system and iphones' inbuilt speakers? Thanks very much
