  1. As a video editor for 30 years I have no emotional attachment to sliding physical faders. I just thought it would speed things up in the mixing process. After returning it, I decided to purchase a Logickeyboard that has keycaps for Logic Pro X. I find learning the keyboard shortcuts is another way to speed things up. And even with a fader, the necessity of tweeking plugins means you still rely on the mouse. So Im actually happy my experience with the Faderport led me to the Logickeyboard
  2. People running newer computers with USB 3 will NOT be able to run the necessary firmware updates to address the problem I reported earlier. The Fader port is older USB 1.1 technology and hasnt been updated. Any attempt to update firmware gets error messages.
  3. Never mind folks. I am returning it. Its more of a pain in the a** then its worth.
  4. Presonus tech support not much help so far. BTW,phone support is awful.
  5. Anyone know how to use Logic Controller Assignments panel well enough to help me get the Read-Write-Touch buttons functioning?
  6. Another Logic user having same issues with nonfunctioning Fader Mode buttons (Read/Write/Touch)
  7. Yes, Ive seen this at the Presonus Knowledge base.I DL the 64bit file from there. Unfortunately the Logic Pro X I purchased 3 months ago does not have the 32 bit check box option in the info box. I manually installed the 64 bit file in the correct folder and all works except the Read-Write-Touch buttons. Another user with same problem.
  8. I will be in touch will Sweetwater tech support today to see if they can get the "Read-Write-Touch" buttons functioning. Anyone with an advanced knowledge of Logics Controller Assignments GUI could easily accomplish this goal. But it eludes a newbie like me. : ) UPDATE They were of no help whatsoever.
  9. Hi David. Im really enjoying the book. It has proven to be an invaluable reference . Im have a little control surface challenge that I cant find any answers in the book, though. I hope you can help. I need detailed info about controller assignments and how to create them. Specifically for the Presonus Faderport. The unit functions all work great EXCEPT the Automation Read/Write/Touch & Off modes. Lots of folks utilizing Logic Pro X have mentioned this problem in various forums. Ive tried diligently to explore the Controller Assignment GUI and figure out how to make them work. I can tell its more than just using the learn function to get them up and running. Hell, I would even pay for your time to help me resolve this issue since its a wonderful unit, but this lack is really bumming lots of folks out. Can you help me out?
  10. Onyx also does thing like Repair Permissions and clear out lots of garbage. I use it religiously, especially when I install or remove software on my Mac.
  11. No prob. The Blue Cat one is cool as well. And the demo works well for what I need.
  12. Thanks Eric. That would explain it. I will just stick with the Blue Cat I installed.
  13. Thanks mmGhost. I DL the AU version (which Logic Pro X prefers) and installed it in the Components folder (where the blue cat audio one resides). Logic does not see it. Its a rather old plugin from 2008 so that might account for the problem.
