  1. I have an SQ-80, which has Poly AT. Unfortunately, the MIDI signals that this sends out are extremely steppy, and in some uses completely unusable. I hoped that I could smooth this out inside Logic and send out the smoothed out, not stepped version back to the SQ-80 or some other synth. I am having trouble finding out how to do this. I don't really need to be able to edit the poly AT (although that would be ideal), but if Logic has a way of un-stepping recorded CC's, that would be a life saver. Thank you, Simon
  2. You can always solo bounce. For some reason you can't bounce in place on multi outs. Bounce in place is really convenient but theres so many instances when you can't use it!
  3. ^^ I agree with Triplets. I have deleted it in the past and, though it didn't mess anything up, I wished I had kept it. If you're in a group or a band Garageband is actually pretty fantastic for rough sketches of songs and demoes. Even if you're just solo, if you collaborate with someone in the future it could be nice to have for sketching out ideas. Plus it takes up less space than a most single Logic projects
  4. Logic's gain plugin can do it. It still looks like a stereo track afterwords, but it's summed to mono and just played through both outputs at the same level. Hope this helps!
  5. You're not clipping are you? Also, what type of file are you bouncing to? Try M4A/AAC, it's typically the highest quality and it's the standard file type for iTunes.
  6. Convert it to a wave/aiff file first. I've never done this (or even worked in surround files), but you should be able to do this by bouncing the output to a PCM. Alternatively, you can run a different program that converts files (do some research if you want to do this, I don't know much about this type of stuff).
  7. did you crack Logic? if its not cracked you should be able to just go to the Apple store and they could probably be able to help you.
  8. Couldn't you bounce it to stereo and then convert it to mono? It should have the same end result..
  9. Or you could just save the patch with a non-bus output and switch it back to the bus after you saved it and then it would recall like a normal patch
  10. is this happening only at the beginning of each looped region or throughout the entire looped region? Have you tried converting the looped files to separate regions?
  11. Logic X is completely backwards compatible. It contains all the old software instruments and effects, but the old ones that have been replaced are called "Legacy" plugins. They still work the same way and will show up automatically in your old projects. HOWEVER if you have any 3rd party plugs that are ONLY 32 bit, then those plugs won't work. If you use something like Sylenth1 as your staple synth, like 90% of the dance music community does, then it won't work in Logic X. Personally, I think Logic X is worth the upgrade, even if Sylenth1 or some other 32 bit AU is your staple and you would only be getting it for new and upcoming projects and stuff. IMO it's a big improvement.
  12. That is what I was trying before without success... I should be able to get it to work from here though, thanks!
  13. Hi guys, I know how to use hardware pretty well, and I know how to use software well, but to be honest I have no idea what I am doing when I try to use them together. Is there a good way to send midi signals from the Logic arpeggiator to a hardware synth in a live setting? This does NOT include the IAC bus thing to print arp sequences to MIDI sequences. I just want play an arpeggio in Logic and have that MIDI go out to a hard synth. Thanks! 8)
  14. I wish they would do something like this! This would make live things much easier and smoother. Unfortunately, dreams of Logic sound quality with Ableton audio editing will never be
