  1. I am having the same problem. This thread has clarified my problem, although I haven't solved it yet! I am thinking the way to do it is to recreate the sends myself, trying to guess what they were in the original loop that I like so much. As far as #2 above, my interpretation is that if YOU are the one creating a loop, rather than using a loop created by Logic, then don't make the same mistake--put your effects directly on the channel strip instead of putting them on with a send.
  2. OK. Maybe it's too old then. I did go to the "plug-in manager" and they don't even show up on the list. Maybe I will have to figure out how to use the Logic one then...EVOC20? Thanks for the responses!
  3. What am I missing here? I am trying to install this group of mda plugins so that I can use the Talkbox one: http://mda.smartelectronix.com I downloaded the AU version at the bottom of the page, it says it can be used with Mac OS X. I added it to my library-->audio-->plug-ins-->components Look, here it is: I restarted Logic. But I don't see the plugin anywhere. I also tried downloading another plugin the same way (The TAL-vocoder-2), to see if it was a problem with that specific plugin, but I can't find that one in Logic either. Thanks for any help. This site is great, so far it has helped my solve every single question I've posted.--Jessica
  4. I've watched a couple of tutorials on "pseudo mastering" and gave it a try. I used the exciter and stereo spread plug-ins to good effect. However, when I tried to make my track louder, it also made the kick, bass guitar and toms significantly louder than they were in the original mix. Why? Am I doing something wrong with the "mastering", or is there something wrong with my mix? I tried making it louder using both the adaptive limiter and the gain plug-in, same problem with each one. A related problem is I can't find a comprehensive guide for how to do this sort of amateur mastering in logic. Just a couple of youtube videos, and all the articles I've found are really vague. Thanks for any help you can give!
  5. I'm watching this tutorial and when this guy bounces, he gets options for Resolution, Sample Rate, File Type, and Dithering. When I bounce I just get this: What gives? Thank you!
  6. Thanks for the replies. I sort of solved it in a lazy way by making sure the volume in the headphones was where I wanted it, before connecting the computer to the Scarlett. The audio pref are set so the input is the Scarlett and the output is the headphones plugged into my computer.
  7. How come sometimes I can't control the volume of my headphones with the computer volume up/down buttons? Usually I can, but now I have one project I'm working on where the volume icon appears with a circle around it and a line through the circle...FORBIDDEN! I need to turn up the headphones volume so I can record vocals while listening to the song. Thank you!
  8. Thank goodness that worked. Life is about to get a little bit easier. Thanks Eric.
  9. I saw someone posted this same question regarding Logic 9 and David replied "Shift-Return" but that isn't working for me. I'm really tired of messing around trying to get the playhead to go the beginning of a region that I want to cut and paste. I've looked through the key commands and googled it and can't figure it out. Thanks for any help!
  10. So I had all these midi instruments with space designers on my song, I had to freeze them to work on the vocals. I finally unfroze everything so I could finish my mix...and now I can't open the file again! It says, "The file “ProjectData” couldn’t be saved in the folder “000”." I suspect that it's now too big? I do have a previous version saved, but I'd have to redo several hours of vocal editing. Can this be saved? Any ideas?
  11. This workaround worked for me: I just turned flex off, then cut the region, then turned flex back on. It allowed me to get around this clicking noise that I would get if I used the scissors in the flex pitch mode.
  12. I'm trying to edit vocals in flex pitch and after just about every movement I make I have to wait for my friend the rainbow wheel to go away. I am using the largest buffer, and I have frozen all the other tracks. I have 400 GB of space left on my hard drive. Any ideas? Thanks!
  13. Thanks Eric, I watched that video and it did help. I ended up creating a new track for audio, rather than a duplicate track (so I must have been duplicating an audio track that was originally created in Logic 9?) and then I cut and pasted my vocals into the new audio track. Then I could use the scissors tool in the flex pitch window (but only when flex pitch is turned off!) and then turn flex pitch back on, and there was no longer a clicking sound where I cut it. Any noticeable jumps in sound are from me manipulating the wave form too much.
  14. Well...what I did originally was open the Logic 9 project in Logic X, and then I recorded the vocals. So the Logic 9 project doesn't contain the vocals that I am trying to work on.
