  1. I'm having issues as the title suggests with playing sounds back through omnipshere on logics piano roll. This suddenly started happening one day and hasn't fixed itself. I don't think its an issue with Omnisphere as I can play the sounds from my midi keyboard and also from the little vertical key board in logics piano roll. its only when I play the track through that the midi can't play the sounds. Anyone encountered this issue before? Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks for your reply. I’m a bit unsure which track it was as I reference a lot, but it may have been this one.... Or this one Anyway I know these have very low frequencies as I mentioned. Right from the start I think when it is just the Kick/other elements but no sub. It makes sense what you’re saying could contribute to the very low frequencies, but I doubt it’s sloppiness from these two producers as they’re two of the best in trance unfortunately I just use sennheiser 650 headphones due to noise complaints so I may not even hear the sub bass properly. I was just wondering why these track go so low In the freq spectrum? Are my settings correct/common on my multimeter? It says the detection is in mono I’ve noticed. I don’t really understand the settings on the multimeter. Thanks again
  3. I am making trance music and hear so many people say that you should always cut your kick and sub bass at around 30Hz. Like it’s a rule for getting a better mix. But when I insert a multimeter in logic and listen to a great sounding track (usually one by John O’Callaghan or will Atkinson), their frequencies for the kick and sub bass are showing information as low as 16Hz. My question is, can most humans hear frequencies this low? Are these frequencies left in the mix so people can really feel it when the track is played on a high quality club system? Is the rule that you should automatically low cut kick/sub bass at around 30Hz not always true? I want my track to sound bassy but not muddy/drowned in too much bass, but I can’t really tell when I leave these frequencies in the mix. I’m a bit confused haha Thanks in advance. Multimeter screenshot of Will Atkinson track attached
  4. Yes, I've binned the faulty one now! I didn't know much about the risks or what was causing the buzzing noise. So thanks again for the info. Really happy I can actually charge the MAC and use headphones at the same time. Cheers mate.
  5. I've just bit the bullet and bought a new one from currys. I've tried it and its now working with no buzzing. I'm made up and glad I haven't wasted my money. Thanks for the help.
  6. Ahhh ok, cheers for the info. Well I should of said, but I have an amp which the headphones are connected to, the amp is plugged into an extension cable along with the magsafe charger. So the extension goes to the mains socket. I've just tried something else and the problem is still there. i moved the magsafe charger to another mains socket on the other side of the room but the buzzing is still there. The buzzing only stops when I remove the charger from the MacBook. So did you eventually get an official apple magsafe charger and did it solve the issue?
  7. It is actually an apple magsafe charger. It's from a Mac refurbishing company. I've heard this could be a ground loop issue. I would invest in a new charger but I want to be sure this won't happen again.
  8. Hi, I was wondering whether anyone has had noise/static issues when using a magsafe adapter plug? Whenever I have my laptop plugged into the adapter (charging) I get a harsh static buzzing sound in my headphones. When i disconnect the charger, the noise goes away. I can't use the headphones to produce while also charging my MacBook, which is annoying as the charge goes down so fast, which then shortens my sessions. Can anyone recommend a solution/hack around this? Thanks
  9. I have recently downloaded Omnisphere 2 and am trying to use it with my M-AUDIO Key station 49 controller. When I select a sound I can only play the notes from my midi keyboard if I select channel 6 on Omnisphere, but I can't play the sound in logics piano roll. If I want to play the sound from the piano roll then channel 1 has to be selected on Omnisphere but then the sound doesn't play from my keyboard. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  10. I am creating uplifting trance music and have been told that I should have my percussion (Claps, Open hats etc.) in the same key as the rest of the track. So I'm thinking that if my bassline played on note E, i would need to find percussion sounds in key E also. My question is, does it have to be that strict? or could i pick keys that are in the same scale? Im just wondering as I'm not sure whether i am right in having to scroll through many samples just to find a percussion sound in a certain key to fit the bassline. Thanks in advance
  11. Hey, thanks for the good advice. i have tried this now and have especially found that routing the cutoff with the velocity works really well to create movement. thanks again
  12. When i create a sub bass say in key A it almost always says that it is in key E when i am using a key analyser. Also i have used some sample packs before that are labelled in one key but i analyse them in a totally different key. Is this normal? Can this be avoided so i am getting a true representation of the actual key i am pressing on my keyboard or drawing in the piano roll.
  13. I am producing uplifting trance music (Trying to produce lol) in the style of Aly & Fila. I love using lots of acid lines/stabs and big melodies. I am wondering if any Aly & Fila fans could tell me how many basslines they would typically use? Especially in tracks like breeze, napoleon, Tula. I tend to start making basslines (3-5) but they just seem really muddy and dont seem to have much rhythm/movement. I use this many just because thats what i see from most trance tutorials on youtube. Aly & Fila from what i hear/think dont seem to use many basslines as they sound so clear. But they have all this atmosphere from acids, plucks, atmospheric effects etc. Any bassline tips would be great!
