  1. Anyone else have thoughts on these issues? Thanks
  2. Hey Eric, thanks for the reply. Insert it before, or after, other plugins? Does it not matter? How do I know which value to chose without knowing how much delay is actually happening? Thanks again.
  3. I downloaded Voxengo Latency plugin, for those companies that do not report delays properly. Where, what, and how do I use it? Voxengo's Latency "user manual" sucks. Where do I insert? In what order? On what tracks/auxs/etc.? Where does it show how many samples/ms the plugin(s) are creating, and how do I compensate using the Voxengo Latency Plugin? Why is their user manual so piss poor? (rhetorical) I know this was a multi-question question. Thanks for your help!
  4. Juda$ Sleaze, do you think it's possible that I'm just running too much for the system to handle? Even though the system performance window doesn't reflect that as being the case?
  5. Agreed. I wonder why 3rd party plugin companies wouldn't report properly. It just creates havoc. Real brain twister.
  6. Hey Juda$ Sleaze, thanks for the reply. I was under that impression as well, and am completely hoping that this is just me being brain dead and missing something simple. Logic is awesome, and I want to stay with it. I'll try it set to medium now, and see what happens. I don't believe I have recording delay on, but will verify. I'm not doing any recording, or running any midi/virt inst in these mixes. What is your typical routing set up, if you don't mind telling me?
  7. *Correction and clarification... -I'm routing a SEND from my BDrum Buss, in addition to using the main Output on the BDrum Buss aux channel which is outputting to the overall Drum Buss aux channel. -Spelling error >Last paragraph >"This happens with all over instruments in my mix, routed the same way." Swap out "over" with "other"
  8. Thanks for the replies. bpiccolini- It is a bummer to hear this. I'm only doing normal, everyday, standard professional mixing techniques. Not recording anything, or using midi. So frustrating!
  9. I have been reading all of the posts/responses re latency issues for the past few days, following the advice given, jumped through all hoops I have been able to find, and still have a bitch of an issue with latency. I know Logic is suppose to deal with this properly. You guys rock, so I'm coming back for help. All my info is below in the post and signature field. I'm hoping this is pilot error, and I'm just missing something. I have 3 basic questions. 1. Does ADC work well and accurately, with all plugins? 2. 3. Am I an idiot? redirect- Am I missing something? I have medium, to large, mixes that come in on a daily basis, some for major artists, some for indie artists, all are equally important to me. I use a great deal of parallel processing, I am consistently running in to phasing, and straight up delay in sound arrival that sounds like a slap back. Here are my adc settings... -Core audio enabled -System memory requirement 120mbs -Output device set to MOTU 896 (I've tried outputting to other devices, and internal mac output, with no luck, same issues) -Delay comp on -i/o buffer size 1024 -Universal track mode checked -Processor threads 8 -Processor buffer range large -Rewire/scrub speed/scrub response settings don't seem to have any bearing on this issue -Plugin latency compensation set to all -System performance window is at about 30% of usage, with 70% of usable "power". For testing, I have limited this down to the kick drum. Here is my routing... (> = output from track) Bass Drum In and Out (audio tracks(2))> BDrum Buss (aux track)> Drum Buss (aux track)> Main Stereo Out (master output) I send (pre or post) from- Drum Buss (aux track)> Drum Comp (aux track)> Main Stereo Out (master output) When I unmute the Drum Comp (aux track), there is serious phasing, all the way up to a slap back effect. This happens with all over instruments in my mix, routed the same way. On Drum Comp (aux) I have inserted a Logic compressor, same issue. I have nothing inserted, same issue. A Logic multi-band compressor, same issue. Many many many other 3rd party compressors, same issue. On Main Stereo Out (master output) I have tried nothing inserted, as well as inserting an SSL eq and an L2. Any help, and or advice, is greatly appreciated, as I am out of options, and stuck. Best, Rogers
  10. Jordi, Camillo Jr, and Danyg: Thanks so much for the info, really appreciate it. I've got it rocking and rolling! One other question... Tracks that I've hidden on the arrange window, are still visible on the mix window. Logic seems to move these hidden tracks over to the far right of my mix window. Is there a way to hide them in the mix window as well? I'm not using them at the moment, but will down the road, and would like to minimize the clutter of my mix window. Thanks again! I'm new to posting on forums, and the information on this forum is amazing. Best, Rogers
  11. Hello, I'm a bit of a midi idiot, and use Logic primarily for mixing. My mixes are typically very large in track count, and I almost never get midi tracks from my clients. Couple questions... Do the midi channel strips take up any CPU processing power if I am not using them? They all have instruments assigned to them, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change that to "none". Is there a way to delete the midi channel strips that seem to automatically load with a new session? The ones to the far right of the audio channels in the mix window. Mac Pro 8 Core, OSX 10.6.8, 18gb of ram Thanks so much for the info! Rogers
