  1. Hi Guys, I have been speaking with Bastiaan at Tone2 but we have not come up with a permanent fix for this as yet but while I have been troubleshooting here I have narrowed this down to the Logic Smart Controls causing the conflict so I thought I would put my findings back on here just in case anyone has further ideas to what I could try myself. I back tracked to what I did differently last Saturday when the crashes started happening and I had mapped some of the knobs on my AKAI to the Smart Control settings for a Instrument Track with the Rayblaster assigned as an Instrument and recorded some Midi & automation to it. With this in mind I opened up a blank Project, added a Instrument Track, assigned the Rayblaster, put some Midi Notes in and then Saved the Project, Quit Logic, reopened Logic then the Project, pressed PLAY and it gives me the crash as per the previous description of the problem above. I then tried opening Logic and the Project again but instead of pressing play I opened the Smart Controls and removed all of the assignment to the Rayblaster on there so it was blank and pressed PLAY and I got the crash again. I then reopened everything again and opened the Smart Controls and left everything assigned but by accident I clicked on the "Arpeggiator" button at the top right of the Smart Controls window (so it is highlighted in blue) and saved the Project, quit Logic reopened etc, pressed PLAY and it did not crash on me, it played with an Arpeggiator obviously but it played fine....weird. I kept testing this by creating several other new Project and saving them, reopening etc and 100% of the time if the Project is saved with the "Arpeggiator" button selected (highlighted in blue) on the Smart Controls it works fine. I thought that this must mean that something is saved somewhere from when I did the mapping last Saturday but I have already tried removing the com.apple.logic.10.plist and com.apple.logic.pro.cs files so I was thinking there must be something else I need to remove or something in Logic I need to do to reset things related to the Smart Controls but I can not find anything. To be honest I'm quite new to Logic, and Mac OS in general, so I was hoping someone may have more ideas I could try to resolve the issue. Thanks for the help again. Anthony
  2. Thanks, I hope so. I OK using my little workaround for now but its not ideal. Hopefully I'll hear back from Tone2 today.
  3. Thank J It was too many characters to post directly so I have attach a "Pages" doc. Please let me know if theres a better way to get it on here if the attached is not viewable. Thanks Anthony logic error.pages.zip LOGIC ERROR THREAD
  4. Thanks for your help with this guys, I really appreciate it. I've been messing around for a few hours this morning trying to sort this but still not having much luck although the problem is stranger than I first thought. I removed the Rayblaster.vst & Rayblaster.component files, restarted my MBP and re-installed it but it didn't fix the issue, I'm not sure if deleting just those two files was enough as it didn't ask me to re-license the Rayblaster afterwards....but I did leave the license file in the Plugins folder though. I will probably have to do a youtube video or something to show the issue properly but I'll have a go at explaining below. If I open up a simple blank Project and put the Rayblaster on a Track it works fine, it lets me edit, record midi etc. When I save the Project and Quit Logic then reopen Logic, reload the Project, press PLAY....bang its crashed. But....If I reload Logic and load the simple Project but instead of pressing PLAY I skip forward a few bars then press PLAY it works fine, I can then go back to the start and press PLAY no problems, also close the Project and recall older Projects and they work fine too so long as I don't quit Logic completely. But then if I Quit Logic and try reopening anything but the simple Project and do the skip forward a few bars thing as above it crashes no matter if I skip forward a few bars or not so it seems like Logic is struggling to initiate the Rayblaster possibly. Strange !!!! Its frustrating as its been working fine since I installed it a few weeks ago, the only thing I did do yesterday differently was map some of the knobs on my MPK261 to the smart controls to do some automation to the Rayblaster but I have since removed the mappings and also replaced the com.apple.logic.cs with the default AKAI one and I also tried removing the file completely and restarting Logic to get the blank one in. I'm still waiting to hear from Tone2 but I have a feeling they may just say its an issue with Logic X and leave me stuck. Thanks again Anthony
  5. Hi, I have been struggling with a problem I have with Logic X crashing every time I press PLAY when I have my Tone2 Rayblaster plugin assigned to a track within the Project and getting the error "“Logic Pro X Quit Unexpectedly while using the Symbiosis Plugin” with a massive error report. (can post if anyone can translate it haha) Its strange as I've been using the Rayblaster Plugin for weeks with no issue but now even if I go back to my older Projects if it has the Rayblaster in it its the same story, as soon as I press PLAY it crashes. I have removed the files com.apple.logic10.plist & com.apple.logic.pro.cs from the Preferences folder but that has not worked so I removed the Rayblaster Plugin from the AU's and everything works ok, added it back and and it just crashes again. I have contact Tone2 for advise but I thought I would see if anyone had any ideas or other things I can try ? my next step while I wait for Tone2 was going to be uninstall Logic completely and re-install but I'm not sure if it would do any good. I did see similar issues that were CoreAudio related and I have no Interface as yet so I'm using onboard sound but it has been working fine for weeks so I don't think its that. It typical as I finally have a few days to sit and tinker about and now my main synth isn't working, the Rayblaster is pretty impressive by the way....when it works. Hope someone could help. Many Thanks Anthony
  6. Thanks for your help J I will give this a shot Thanks Anthony
  7. HI, I am hoping someone could help me or stop me from trying to figure out how to do this please as its driving me mad. I have just got a AKAI MPK261 and I have mapped all the Faders and Knobs to control the Mixer channels 1 to 24 (Volume, Pan etc) but I was hoping to map the same Faders/Knobs to control my Rayblaster Plug In Synth when in use (or any other Plug In). I have managed to do it by 'Keeping Both' from the Assignment Area but obviously I do want to Pan Channel 1 +64 when cranking the OSC on the Rayblaster. I've tried switching to a different Preset on the AKAi and mapping again but it must still be receiving the same MIDI CC information so I've ruled that out but I may be wrong in doing so. The only way I can think of doing it is to sacrifice Channels 17 to 24 in the Mixer (Bank C on AKAI) and use those which is ok but I'm certain there must be a way of telling Logic that when the Rayblasters in use "Use this Mapped Controller Set" so to not get the conflict. Any help would be fantastic, I sure many people before me must have run into this dilemma. I'm pretty new to Logic also which make me question that this must be able to be done somehow but its beyond my knowledge. Many Thanks Anthony
  8. Thanks for the reply Martin. Its exactly what I need. Just making sure I've got enough budget to get some UA plugins to use with it when I finally get it.
  9. HI, Just after some advise really if possible. I'm running Logic Pro X and need a new audio interface to get sound out to my Monitors/Headphones etc and was thinking of the Apollo Twin but all I'm going to be using it for is literally an audio interface, there might be the odd hardware synth recorded in now and again but 99% will be working sound just out of Logic. I was hoping someone could offer some advise with regards to the Plugins from the Apollo Twin, as I'm not recording in through it can I still use the plugins that come with the Apollo Twin (or purchased for it from UA) through Logic and just assign them to my tracks in Logic ? Sorry, I may not have worded the above very well. I have Macbook Pro with a Thunderbolt port which makes me think the Apollo Twin would be a good idea but I dont know if theres much point if I'm not primarily using it to record Guitars etc into Logic so the way the plugins would work with Logic is my main concern and I've read around various sites/forums but just managed to confuse myself Thanks
