  1. I have downloaded what I believe to be the correct driver from MOTU online, but cannot find any information on whether or not my MOTU 896 can communicate with Logic Pro 9 or Logic Pro X, or whether or not my MOTU 896 is supported in Mavericks. Any suggestions on where I might be able to find this information online? I cannot even see a level/signal on the MOTU 896 with a SM57 mic plugged in to any channel.... no meter readings. My MOTU 896 looks clean and is free from damage.... not sure why I'm not seeing a level? (I made sure to select the proper setting on the mini switch next to each input, labeled "mic") And if my MOTU 896 is not supported.... what audio interfaces (with multiple inputs) do any of you recommend to work with my setup? I much prefer something with multiple inputs (8? possibly more?) and tend to prefer actual faders/sliders, knobs, etc. versus a digital mixer view (less menus to toggle between), but realize that it may be more practical to go with a digital interface.... I am open to any suggestions, and thank you all in advance for any responses to this post! My current setup: * 2009 Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.2 * MOTU 896 (not HD), purchased sometime around 2003? 2004? * I can run either Logic Pro 9, or Logic Pro X
  2. Hi, I have a MOTU 896 (not HD, just an older MOTU 896 purchased probably around 2004?) that I am trying to get to interface with my 2009 Macbook Pro running OS X Mavericks 10.9.4, and I own Logic Pro 9 and Logic Pro X and CANNOT get them to communicate to get any sort of level or basic recording accomplished. I am definitely frustrated! I am running two SM57 mice into the 896, but have yet to even see a level/reading on the 896 or in Logic. I am running firewire out of the 896 straight into my Mac.... made sure the selection switches on the back of the 896 are set to "mic"..... any suggestions on settings within Audio MIDI setup, sound (within System Preferences), Audio settings within Logic, global settings, etc.... that anyone can recommend I double-check? I admit that I am somewhat new to recording this way, and want to make sure I have everything set up correctly. I believe I do, but obviously I'm doing something wrong.... any help with this is much appreciated. Thank you for your time!
