  1. Agh scratch that , it seems my global track preferences were set to hide the 'video' track. If anyone else encounters this simply - Control & click on the global track to configure and select 'video' to show for the thumbnails.
  2. Hi all, I'm sure this is a stupidly easy one. But on an older version of Logic (can't remember which.) When I worked with a movie I had both the movie at the top left hand corner playing and a movie track which was one of the global tracks. This track had thumbnails across the timeline. Well I need this function again, and I can't work out at all how to do this????? As my signature says I'm on Logic Pro V 8.0.1
  3. great thanks for the suggestion. We;ve actually found a great work around. As we usually zip our files before transferring to PC we have made it mandatory to do so. Now we run all the Zip files through "ZipCleaner" - a free app that gets rid of absolutely everything (even the __macosx files) It all works well in that respect. Also We had an issue that when we were browsing a pc via a networked MAc - the mac would create the ds store and ghost files on the pc. There is a great one line terminal script to rectify this
  4. Did anyone have any more suggestions re: this? I'm still hitting a brick wall with my current app.
  5. I've just been using the demo of CDXtract to give it a test run. When converting from *.EXS to *.SXT (Reason's NN-XT preset file) It seems as though it looses its cross-fade. It looks like the loop is still in the correct place but there's an obvious clip due to no cross-fade value. Is this a common thing for the program or is there a work around to keep these cross-fade values in.
  6. have you used this one? I've read up on it just not sure how well it does in application
  7. Hi all, I'd love to know what application you guys use for converting plugin preset files to other formats, for example .NKI to .EXS24. The app must obviously be mac based, be able to convert all popular formats and be extremely efficient. What would you recommend?
  8. yes, we're currently removing over 100 a day so I hoped there would be some magic application or script to remove the nippers
  9. Like I said before, then: Folder Options - View - Advanced settings - Do not show hidden files and folders. J. The issue is that the users can see these files, we can't ask the world to hide all hidden files on their computer
  10. for those who don't know *.SND is a 16 bit file type that many hardware MPCs (such as Akai) prefer to utilise. Can anyone recommend a mac based *.WAV to *.SND converter. I'm currently using one by www.midicase.com which is great but unfortunately it is just PC based and I'm moving more and more to a solely mac workstation.
  11. It causes no technical problem in-house. The issue is; it is showing for our PC users and is aesthetically poor.
  12. Hi all, hope you had a great Easter. So at my office we move from logic (obviously mac based workstation) to a PC workstation to upload audio files. We've encountered a growing issue which is the hidden .DS and ._* files. These files are hidden in every folder on mac but when we move a folder with say 100 audio files bounced from logic to a PC every audio file has a ._ alias and each folder has a .DS alias. Right now the only way we can fix it is manually removing all the hidden files on the PC. We have tried a Terminal script that removes the ._ files but they seem to just recreate themselves. I know this isn't strictly Logic based but we have a great collection of technically minded mac users here who I'm sure have experienced this issue when working cross platforms, I'm hoping one of you has found a solution?
  13. Ok thanks and FYI I've utilised the suggested preferences on Chicken and it's took the 'volume' parameter up to '-2' which is quite un-noticeable. Not perfect but getting there. So thanks
  14. I think there is. In the "Special" prefs, there's a section called "On Comparison, Ignore . .", try checking the "Volume" parameter there. Also, in the "Data Processing" prefs, try unchecking "Write Volume . .". Not absolutely sure those will do it, but it's worth a try. Translator can be persnickety. CDXtract does have a "No Attenuation" option available when doing conversions to EXS, however. Thanks Fader8, And CDXtract can convert kontakt to EXS? any experience with this process with this converter?
  15. Oh yes - thanks. I see what you mean but in this instance I've got over 200 *.EXS files that really do need to have the volume parameter set to 0.
