  1. Actually what is happening is that the file is being flexed to be shorter and faster. My guess is because I imported it into another file that has a different tempo? Found it! This worked: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=85493
  2. Hello, I've worked with Flex before (with same settings) and never had this issue, but the problem below happened twice now so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else had a similar problem. I am using Logic 9 and am working with 96K/24 files. When I turn on Flex mode and choose on of the flex options, the region gets shortened and sped up. Basically, as if I changed the sampling rate of the file. When I turn flex off, it reverts back to the original length and speed. Thoughts?
  3. Just to clarify. I think I might have confused things by using the word "parallel". Sorry about that. What I meant by that is that the automation line is parallel, i.e. it doesn't change at all until it hits the next node. I only have one plugin in this example, which is the Gian plugin. And what I was hoping for is that Logic would have a feature where that "parallel automation line" could be moved up and down simply by moving that parameter on the plugin directly.. So that I don't have to move it with my mouse in the arrange window, which is super cumbersome. Would be really cool to have that feature, but alas, it doesn't seem to exist.
  4. Thanks Eric, that's too bad, ads a bit of extra work once automation is introduced but oh well shivermetimbers - I'm not sure what you mean with your question. I would like to have the signal that I recorded have different levels at two different points in the song.
  5. Hi, I am not sure if this topic ever came up. I was wondering if there is a way to change the automation lines from a plugin directly? For example if I put a Gain plugin in and then I choose two different gains along my track. They are both "parallel" so no contours or movements of any sorts, other than two nodes that separate them It would be amazing if there could be some sort of a "toggle" switch that would allow me to change the two gains directly by using the gain knob on the plugin, and depending on where the play cursor is, it would change the gain value for the whole automation stretch between in the stretch between the nodes. If that makes sense. Any thoughts? (I'm on LP9)
  6. Yes, at the top right of your Arrange area, look for a "Drag" pop-up menu. Great, found it, thanks! Understood, it's just that it doesn't make sense to add the fade when you perform the cut, it makes sense to add the fade when you combine the cut region with something else - which is what the Xfade Drag mode does. I have a "default" setting that I usually consistently use when blending tracks. Having different settings happen when I do the drag option still requires me to go in and take it to the default setting that I like. Also the drag-x-fade seems a bit buggy when using it in groups (which I currently am doing). It doesn't seem to give the same value to all the regions in the group when I move them all. I'll find the best way to implement all this. Would still love if there was an automatic crossfade creating option but oh well. Thanks again for the help David.
  7. Thanks David Does Logic Pro 9 have that option? Do I enable it in the Preferences somewhere? I'm looking now and can't find it. As for the fade when cutting, usually when I cut, I want to combine that cut region with something else and it would so convenient if every cut automatically created the fade option so that I don't have to manually do that every time.
  8. Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to set Logic up so that when I cut a region in the Arrange window, it automatically adds a Fade (that I set the parameters to, for example EqP, 20ms, Curve -20) to the region on the left? Thanks p.s, I'm in Logic 9.
  9. Hi all, quick question, for some reason I had a hard time finding the answer to this one online: I understand that Linear Phase EQ will introduce latency due to its CPU demands, but is that only during playback? Or will there be a latency when bouncing a track too? Thanks!
  10. I see, so in a way it is "linear", thanks David!
  11. Hi, Considering that track volume knobs are not working linearly (the way I understand decibels), if I select multiple tracks in the mixer and move them up and down, does logic have some algorithm to reduce them all exponentially relative to one another? Or is the volume change going to be "linear" and mess up the mix? I hope the question makes sense.
  12. After checking the two channels separately, I'm realizing that the bleed is not too heavy on the right channel, so perhaps just widening the track stereo with the direction mixer would help separate it from the middle. I'll experiment with it all, thanks again for your feedback!
  13. What setting is 90°, I actually did play around with direction mixer already but then muted it as I didn't quite understand it, will need to read up on it a bit now! Thanks Eric! EDIT: I got it!
