I want to buy a soft synth on a strict 25 dollar budget, what would you recommend?

My track was clipping about 11 decibels, so I added a compressor to the master and lowered it by about 11 decibels. Does this actually solve the problem created by clipping? it's no longer clipping, but the mix is essentially the same.

I know what the effect sounds like, but how does it work? Also what does tuning it do?

I don't mean ok as in legal I mean ok as in professionalism. I really like this one loop and I want to make a track mainly comprised of it, but it just seems wrong...

What happens is when I turn on Mono and unison in the es2 it sounds great, but then it gets extremely gritty for a few seconds and goes back to sounding regular. This only happens when I have Mono and Unison both on with analog, I also have 28 voices. Is this simply an inherent quality of the synth, or is there a way to change it. And I have checked the synth for anything else that could be modulating, but it seems that it's analog. can somebody explain how this works please?

Which one has more overall functionality

I tired bouncing a track with a negative start time to iTunes, but it only bounces from bar 1, removing the first part. How can I make Logic bounce the negative bar?

I know the es2 is not a "warm" sounding synth, but can any of its' plugins make it sound warmer? I know the Tape Delay trick, but it's just not enough. Also any free 3rd party plugins that can make it warmer are worth a mention too. Thanks!

It's probably a setting in the synth. Most have ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) which is usually, by default, hooked up to the volume. The Sustain knob might be lowered below 5 seconds. If that doesn't work, then just start turning off one setting/plugin/setting with a plugin one by one and see where the problem is. Good luck!

I am layer a sub bass into the mix and I can't tell if it sounds better with or without unison...
