  1. Thanks but yes, already done that - it makes no difference. Is there a midi thru setting I should disable in Logic? The time delay between playing and the note re-sounding is quite long, about a whole second. Update: I've turned local off on the keyboard so I no longer get a repeated note. However, I still get (simultaneously) the keyboard sound and the Logic channel sound. I'm feeling I need to set up the environment window, but have no idea how to go about it. I tried but lost all sounds! Is there an idiots' guide to this?
  2. Hi Please be gentle: I'm now an old man: although I was using Notator Logic with an Atari and saving to floppy discs over 20 years ago, I've had a gap of about 15 years and have forgotten pretty much everything I knew about MIDI, connections, etc. I'm now trying to set up an old version of Logic Pro (7.2) on an old iBook G4 running OS-X 10.4. My keyboard is a Yamaha CVP-205 (not a dumb keyboard) and they're connected via a MIDI-USB connector. I thought I'd cracked connection problems when I finally realised I had to connect 'out' to 'in' on the keyboard and vice versa. I've created a virtual keyboard in the Apple audio/MIDI interface and connected the cables. Testing the interface gives me sound output from the keyboard. The problem is that I hear both the keyboard voice (eg sax) and whatever is shown on the Logic arrange window (eg channel 1 piano, 2 synth, etc). What do I do to resolve this - using simple words, please!
