  1. Hi, on Logic X is there a command for what the original poster was asking? To move the playhead to the beginning of a selected region (which was Shift-Return on Logic 9). I'm just switching to Logic X and can't find this short-cut in the menu and Shift-Return doesn't work either and I used this short-cut all of the time in Logic 9. Thanks (and i'll update my signature)
  2. hello all, just wanted to follow-up and see if someone might know something about this. thanks
  3. hi alll, i'm using logic 9 to record an external synth/drum machine/effect set-up. in order for logic to slave my external sequencer (cirklon) correctly I need to have a count-in. This works at the start of a project since logic doesn't send a midi start message before location 1 1 1 1. If I ever want to punch a section later, logic will send a midi start immediately upon count-in rather than when the recording actually starts. This makes it near impossible to punch-in edits later. Is there a way for logic to only send tempo info during count-in (without a midi-start message) and to send the midi-start message upon actual recording?
  4. Thanks for the advice. I will give this a try and report back.
  5. unfortunately, the project is quite heavy in terms of CPU power and bouncing in real-time overloads my system. I can only bounce this project offline.
  6. Hi, I'm trying to bounce a song that has a section where all of the tracks are sent to a bus and on that bus is an auto filter with a lot of automated parameters. When I play the song from the beginning within Logic's arrange window, the autofilter automation produces one choreography of sounds. However, when I bounce the track, the autofilter automation produces a completely different choreography of sounds. I need the automation to sound exactly like how I wrote it down (which reflects how the track plays back from within the arrange window). So, in short, I can't get a proper bounce of my song because the autofilter'd section is not being bounced as I wrote it. Can anyone think of any reasons why this may be happening?
  7. I had originally used the splice at transient function in order to separate all of the kick drum hits into their own regions. I tried merging all of them back together (after having muted some) and this fixed the issue of some of the kick drum hits not being triggered (the ones that were not muted and had no automation). I'm still not sure why this was happening on this one project, but at least I know now how to avoid it in the end. Appreciate your help
  8. hello, i've recently been noticing an issue on a project of mine. When playing the project, when it gets to a specific section, the same instruments always cut out for a few seconds (though at different times from each other) and then cut back in (though at different times from each other). It sounds like there is automation at these points, but there is absolutely no automation on these tracks, not even plugins on these tracks, just audio regions (also they are not muted). I've even re-bounced-in-place these audio files, gave them new tracks, and this is still happening despite my visually seeing audio there. Then, when I play back from within the section itself (but before the instruments have been cutting out/in) then it plays back back these audio portions perfectly. Basically, when playback has a few seconds before the section starts then it will remove certain parts of the audio, but NOT when I play back 1 second before those audio drops have been appearing. Maybe this is an audio buffer issue? the project is quite enormous and does have a lot of tracks. I have attempted to raise the buffer to even 1024 and adjusted the process buffer range to Large and it is still not helping. Also, to note, bouncing the track includes these same lapses in audio playback. Hope someone might have some insight. Appreciate it!
  9. just to clarify, I understand why this is happening, I'm just curious why sometimes the audio bus files are enormous and other times they are not. Is it okay to delete these if the internal bus is successful?
  10. I have been getting this recently on projects, too. They vary in size, but one project I have has four of these files: Audio-Bus064 (11.27 gb) Audio-Bus064_1 (5.64 gb) Audio-Bus064_2 (5.64 gb) Audio-Bus064_3 (5.64 gb) It's happening in other projects, too. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
  11. Is there a way to have the event lanes within Hyper Editor match the names of the samples (within EXS24) that the lanes are connected to? The only info within the manual I can find is that you have to edit each lane name from the inspector. When you have 50 samples that is beyond tedious. Sorry if this is simple, but the manual isn't helping or I'm bad at searching
  12. Hi all, I'm trying to run a sequence off of my DAW to control my MachineDdrum. I currently have one midi track that has an entire drum sequence, including 6 different drums. I'd like to issue some program changes to specific drums contained within this one midi track to alter things like pitch, decay, etc, for the specific drums. However, I can't quite figure out how to send that type of message from within Logic. The MachineDrums user manual lists out "hex" and "dec" numbers that correspond to each machine parameter, but I can't find anything relating to 'hex' or 'dec within logic 9. When creating a new program change in logic, I only see 'position', 'status', 'ch', 'num', 'val', and 'length'. On top of that, the program change that I create doesn't seem to have a way of differentiating between each of the 6 drums contained within the one midi track. Does anyone have an idea how I can just issue program changes on singular notes within one midi region and also how to adjust 'hex' and 'dec' values so that I can locate specific machinedrum parameters? thanks a lot for your help
  13. checking in in case someone might know how to do this
