  1. Please help, I tried midi environment, but can't seem to get it working... How can I play mac keyboard one instrument and midi keyboard another? Thanks!
  2. First I have some kind of problem with arpeggiator, take a listen to this synth https://soundcloud.com/johnny-caper/backto-802 listen for first 20 or so seconds to understand, the rest is my own mistakes by hitting wrong keys It seems like arpeggiator is changing itself even if I try to play it right, I may get it sound right, but then again it messes up So after not finding away to fix it, I got second problem, I tried to record as best as I could, still not perfect but ok, I looped the recording, first loop sounds ok, second one gets messed up https://soundcloud.com/johnny-caper/backto-803 Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
  3. Looking for buy to rent plugins, like Sylenth, Serum is there anything else available? Something similar to Omnipshere Thanks!
  4. That is probably the source of the problem... Hours of listening... Usually when I get mored I move on to next beat, which again is another loop... Lately I found some logic remake and type beat project files, these things seem to help understand the structure.
  5. I had 2012 year MacBook Pro with 4gb ram, and was running a lot of plugins, never really had any major crashes. Now I got 2017 year edition with 8gb ram and it's pretty much the same, it works for you day to day beat making. For me it's a long way to reach 50-100+ tracks. so I am fine with MacBook Pro 13 inch )
  6. Yeah, most of electronic music is loops, hardest part is trying to add things between loops. I can listen to my own loops for hours, but in reality that won't get me far...
  7. Was heavily inspired by Post Malone's Rockstar So this my take on it - https://soundcloud.com/johnny-caper/dark-anthem It's just a loop, trying to figure out how to arrange it to full song, any advice would help Thanks!
  8. Looking through youtube, found this -
  9. Is there are way to slice regions automatically, for example I have a loop and I want to slice it into parts so I can edit later on. Thanks!
  10. Just found out about Arrangement Track, it's very useful, it splits your track into parts - intro, verse, chorus, outro etc.. Here is the video about it
  11. Damn didn't knew that, I remember when I first got Logic Pro I was super hyped when I found out the sound that Foster The People used in Call It What You Want, it gave me such a inspiration, Logic Pro became kinda like fashion thing to me, it's just more appealing than any other DAW. Lately I found out about Loopcloud 2.0, it's software based sample collection - all you need is internet connection, you can search, preview loops and instantly buy them and drag into DAW, pretty cool, they also give free samples every week.
  12. Thanks for suggestions! Subtractive Arrangement is pretty much what I was looking for. About creativity it's true, I don't like complicated beats, sometimes the less time you spend on it the better it sounds - just hop in, find the right drums, add some lead and background pad. Arpeggiator does wonders too, but it's not working all the time. Also Logic Pro default samples are perfect for instant creativity, but sometimes I feel kinda guilty for using them, because it's too easy, just drag and drop, it's usually when my beat is made only with samples - hard to really call it my own, but if you are vibing to it then it's kinda fine right? Most people don't care how the song is made, if it sounds good then it's good. But still I get more satisfaction when I am just jamming and messing around,.
  13. I can play songs on guitar, but this loop problem comes when I am making any kind of electronic music - rap, pop etc.. I listen to so much stuff, I usually put my favourite songs on, get my hype up, make a loop and repeat. Thing is the loop sounds perfect, but I just can't seem to work around the project to finish it, add more stuff, I can never sit in one project for hours, I move on to next thing.
  14. How to get out of it? All I do is make loops, not one finished song, I just make a loop and loop it to 2-3 minutes and call it a song lol
  15. I had old 2012 year MacBook Pro 13 inch with 4gb ram and it could run Logic Pro 9 and X fine, somethings crashed, but overall good. Now I have 2017 year MacBook Pro 13 inch with 8gb ram, most of the ram is used and about 1-2gb left, but it still runs pretty good. Friend has 15 inch Pro with i7, only difference is he can handle more tracks and bigger screen give a big plus. Overall 13 inches and 8gb of ram is enough for your avarage home music production
