David thank you for your quick response. I never noticed this behavior before I started extensively using multi-outputs and their respective channel strips. Also just to be clear, I'm not saying just the first time I play the track, it's anytime I go into record. If I'm using the aux. channel strip in the arrange window there is no R button on that track so I'm not sure how to R-enable other than selecting the track and if I'm adding to an existing recording I often don't want to add messages prior to coming in. Am I missing something? This feels like a bug.

I have a really annoying issue I'd like to resolve. When I use plug-ins in multi-output mode and then go into record the first note never speaks, almost as if there's some buffering happening.
