  1. Thanks so much dven! I appreciate it!
  2. Is there anywhere to grab high sierra? Can't seem to find it, and Mojave will break a few things I need. I would really like to try this logic update, but from what I understand it's not compatible with sierra.
  3. Not sure. It sounds like even with MIDI thru off the note information is being sent twice. Are you programming the SR16 and sending the patterns to logic? That could be it. If you are triggering it from the pads on the SR16 that could be the problem too, it is sending itself the notes and also sending logic the notes, logic is then sending the note information to the unit again. Since there is no option to turn off local control, try triggering/sequencing the SR16 from a different MIDI controller, or using the piano roll in logic and see if that helps.
  4. Make sure you have local MIDI set to off on the SR16.
  5. That's what I was thinking, but I wanted to be sure. I've been doing flat-rate programming and composing for so long I just couldn't get it straight in my head the right way to go about it! Thanks so much for your reply Ski!
  6. Hopefully this is the correct sub-forum for this question. I'm not sure exactly how to word this, but hopefully it makes sense. I have been mainly doing production and mastering work for the last decade or so, but I'm planning on releasing some original music at some point this year. I need to register again with BMI since my old register was a collective with a former writing partner. I am the sole writer/ performer for all of the music and I am also keeping my publishing rights. My question(s): Do I need to register as a publisher and an artist/ songwriter, or do I just register as a publisher? Is there a way I can register as both simultaneously, or are they treated separately by BMI? Thank you in advance!
  7. Huge bummer! Love the Beasties. MCA wrote/ plated some brilliant bass lines as well. Rest in peace Adam Yauch!
  8. Thanks again for all the info fader8! I really appreciate it. I guess I'll start looking around to see if I can find a Unitor or AMT for a decent price. I probably won't need the Unitor Control software since I don't use more than a few ports live, but I wouldn't mind having it just in case. Shoot me a PM if you have a chance to get it to me.
  9. Thanks Fader8. Are you saying I just daisy chain them via RS422 from my main Unitor which is hooked up USB? Can I do this with just Logic without having to dig up a version of Unitor Control? I do want to go the "emagic" route, but I've had a hard time finding an AMT or Unitor in decent condition for a reasonable price. I think I will hold out until I can find one though based on your info. thanks again!
  10. I have a Unitor 8 (mkII) which has been my main MIDI interface with Logic since it came out. Love it, it's rock solid for me. I am in need of a second MIDI interface with at least 6 (preferably 8 or more) additional ports for MIDI. If I am unable to find a used Unitor or AMT 8, which MIDI interface could I get new that will play nice with my Unitor/ logic 9 setup? I am on OS 10.6.8 running Logic 9.1.5 on a 2.4 GHz core 2 duo macbook with 4 GB of RAM Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. http://www.mission-engineering.com/Mission-Engineering/Exp_Pedals.html Built like a tank, feels just like a Dunlop pedal. A few different options, I use an EP1 with my axeFX. Works great, zero issues.
  12. This. Just got it last week. Very good at what it does!
  13. Are you talking mainly high gain patches, or does this happen with clean tones as well? Without specific details I would suggest using a noise gate 1st in your channel strip before inserting amp designer. High gain patches tend to emphasize even small amounts of noise in the signal. The gate should help to minimize this.
  14. Have you tried using flextime in the arrange window? Sometimes that yields slightly less grainy results on longer stretches.
