  1. e.g. - I recorded a 8 bars of music from measure 9 - 16 for an instrument; I then recorded another 8 bars of music from measure 36 - 43. Logic is automatically merging those two regions into one big region. What setting is this, and how can it stop?
  2. I knew how to do this and forgot - how do you set one track/region to follow another track/region? I have a few passages where a lot of tracks are playing the same exact thing in a verse. Thanks,
  3. I wrote a bunch of library tracks with alternate versions (i.e. Song 1 - Drum & Bass only, Song 1 - Acoustic, etc.) I registered the original full versions with ASCAP, and was wondering what do you do with alternate versions? Register those as well? There's an "Alternate Title" section, but I'm not sure how to fill it out correctly. Thanks,
  4. well then it's working! Thanks! I'm guessing if I just keep that on and start playing in tracks, I should just play to the BPM counters clicks and that should do it.
  5. ahh, as a PLUG-IN. Found it, I put it on the track; is that it? Does it just kind of regulate the tempo? Do I need to tap something along with it?
  6. I'm not seeing the Metering section. Is that in the Options => Tempo section? I found Tempo Interpreter. L8.
  7. Hi There, I'm working with a singer/songwriter who sent me an mp3 of guitar and vocals, and I've "kind of" found his tempo, but it never stays on the grid. It was played and recorded free form, which has a very nice organic and flowing sound, but impossible to target a tempo. Or so I think. Is it possible in L8 to "find the tempo" of an imported audio track? Thanks,
  8. Thank you, great tips! Mic placement makes a huge difference, I'm sure. I didn't even think of the analyzer on the EQ, which is great for search & destroy on instruments. If anyone knows of other ideas or existing threads out there that cover vocals and small percussion, I'd love the link. Thanks again!
  9. I guess I should narrow it down. I'm currently recording some R&B vocals for a singer, so I'd like to know some good practice tips on recording voice. I also want to learn how to record percussion like shakers, congas, kitchen appliances, etc.
  10. I'm sure there's plenty of them, but I just got a mic, and would love to get some good tips from existing threads on mic set-up and good recording. Thanks!
  11. thanks, I'll look at toon track. I assume with a USB plug it's got to work in there some how. I notice you're on Snow Leopard - how is that working? Stable? Any Problems?
  12. I've read an article online about this that sounds like it's possible, and I'd like to know if anyone has had any luck plugging an xbox rock band drum kit into their computer and used it as a midi controller for drums within logic? fyi I've already heard the following: "I just use a real drum set" - good point, I'll keep that in mind
  13. THAT is why I post questions up here! Thanks!
