  1. Wow, the simplest of things and I never knew it! Thanks as always for your help David. And the quick response
  2. Hi David Thanks heaps for that, works perfect. The only problem was I'd gone ahead and worked on half the track, including turning the samples into monophonic Flex mode and adding loads of midi drums and bass regions to match! If I follow all the steps, then shrink the sample using the flex tool, it's still timed perfectly, as the tempo's been changed, so that part's easy. Is there anyway to shrink midi regions to fit the new tempo? As far as I can see, you can only shrink the length of the midi region, but the notes won't shrink to fit the new tempo area - is that correct? Thanks again for your help!
  3. Hi all I'm sure this has been asked loads of times, but I've been searching for a while and come up with nothing, so guess I'm not wording it right! I have chopped up an old song into loops and set the tempo to match. It's an old rock song though and there are a few breakdowns where they just can't fit into a 2 or 4 bar loop without time stretching it till it doesn't sound right. Once I've added these in the song though, they are stretching over the end of the bar, so the whole rest of my loops following in the song are out of sync with the timeline. Can anyone make a suggestion as to what to do here? I'm wondering if you can make a couple of bars stretch out to match the odd samples, or reset the timeline even? Thanks for any help.
  4. Hi David Thanks for your help, as always! I went through those tutorials, including the center plugin. Listening to the guitar, seems like it's panned all the way to both sides, so not much hope for removing it! Think it will be OK anyways if I play with some vocal effects. Thanks again
  5. Hi all I'm currently playing around with a sample that has bass, drums, etc, but there's also a lead guitar, which could be distracting when I put vocals over it. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for trying to "muffle" the lead guitar, without muffling the whole track? I've tried using the Chanel EQ plugin, but it doesn't work so well. I'm no expert on these types of things, so any help would be greatly appreciated! I have the Waves bundle if that would help, but not sure which one to try?! Cheers
  6. Thanks for putting that up, look at this guy. Didn't realise you couldn't add your own RAM, that's a big deal breaker, plus no ethernet. Rethinking now. Might just look into upgrading my memory and add a new SSD to my existing laptop, while I wait for them to re-release the "classic" macbook pro, once the complaints roll in
  7. I've been waiting for the new Macbook pro and it's finally here! Looking at taking the plunge. Has anyone had experience of both the Flash Drive versus the standard RPM drive with Logic? I'm wondering whether it's worth throwing in an extra 1000 bucks, but I'll do it if it makes Logic run that bit faster I can't figure out if it just makes the opening of programs faster, or would it help for loading in new instruments and the in program running of Logic, etc? Thanks!
  8. Worked an absolute treat! Thanks Flower Power
  9. Hi all, hope you're well. Been a while since I've been on here, but back on Logic again! I am currently working with an audio file. There's a single bass note at the end and I wanted to stretch it out to finish off the song. Ideally I'd like to make it sound like when you press the stop button on a record player, but anything that sounds like the sound is slowing would be great. Any suggestions? I tried time stretching the note in Flex mode, but the pitch went higher. Just wondering if there's a plugin or something I could use. Thanks for any help! Paul
  10. Hey guys Just wondering if the RSS feeds ever got re-instated? I'm guessing not, as it's still not working for me. Would be a very handy thing to have though to keep up to date with things
  11. Hi everyone. I'm getting the same problem here. I can get the turntable working as an aggragate device and monitor it in Logic. But I can only get the sound out if I record then play back. I can't monitor without recording, whereas I normally can with my other devices. I'm using my built in output in the Audio Preferences in Logic. On the actual track, I'm using "input 1-2" for input and "Stereo Out" for my output. I've tried all the options here, so pretty stuck. Does anyone know why I can't monitor in Logic? Would appreciate your help!!
  12. Thanks Jamie, I actually thought that pitch thing only worked relative to where you moved the sample around the midi notes - didn't realise it worked in conjunction with the key! Thanks again!
  13. Hi all, Not sure if I'm asking a dumb question, but been looking around and can't see an answer to it! I have a bunch of regions on a single sample. I drag them into the arrange area, right click all and convert to sampler instrument. Now I have a bunch of notes in the ESX 24 based on my regions. I want to pitch up or down one or two of the notes, as I feel they don't fit the beat. Is that possible? Changing the key of the note in the ESX24 edit window doesn't change the sound. Would really appreciate any advice.
  14. Thanks for your replies guys It is worth mentioning, these are drum beats, so a kick and a snare is all I'm taking from a track, at least in this instance. Would the dynamic range matter so much with a drum beat? Thanks again.
