automating the rate of lfo2 for the es2

Postby kennycash » Sat Aug 18, 2012 12:36 pm

I'm trying to automate your typical wobble baseline sound in logic using my es2. for some reason when I draw the rhythms I want to hear they start a half a beat early. i.e.. my bass-line has a 1/4 note wobble in measure 1 and I want to hear an 1/8th note wobble in measure 2. I draw the 1/8th note wobble based on the grid but its starts doing the rhythm on the and of beat 4 of measure 1. This is annoying the hell out of me and I am interested in purchasing massive but I am worried that the automation will do the same for that as well. I'm not sure if I have something set incorrectly or if this is a bug. I would appreciate the help.

Thank you,

Kenny

Under Preferences > Audio > General, make sure Sample Accurate Automation is set to "Volume, Pan, Sends, Plug-in Parameters"?

Did a quick test on this here machine running 9.0.2 and the LFO2 syncs up perfectly as long as the note starts right on a downbeat - is that not your case? Play the project below on your machine and see if you hear it right? It should change rate right on the downbeat of each bar. I use the built-in metronome to check the sync.

Loaded this up running logic 9.1.7 and its doing the 1/4 wobble but nothing else. I can see the automation but its not reading any of it. so what I did was create another es2 track and moved your midi notes/automation to that track. I did nothing in the environment when I made the new es2 just used the default setting and had cutoff 1+2 wobble with the source as lfo and I was getting the automation then, but still starting off beat. I actually ended up picking up massive yesterday and even when I automate that the theres a little hiccup from rhythm to rhythm. I took a screen grab of the es2 but I'm still a little new to this site and not sure how to post it. Please Help! I don't want to start scoring and then go to my big studio and have to worry about it not being consistent. Thank you
