Bounce question for you good folks...screen shot

Hi there folks....

Im currently using a Roland SPD SX sampling pad. It has 2g of memory and there is no way of extending it.

I play with a covers band, and im hoping to use the SPD SX to fire off backing tracks. The tracks are made in Logic 9 and are 99% midi files. I then have to bounce as WAV 16bit.....

I have succesfully loaded up 15 of them but the memory has now 20% remaining.

Looking at the tracks again the files are massive. But besides that the 2 separate files - 1 for front of house , 1 click track are the same size???? Surely the click track should be a tiny file??

Ive attached a screen shot to see if any of you can help....am i bouncing wrong?? or saving wrong????

Many thanks,,,

The content of the audio file does not dictate the file size....only bit depth/sampling rate and overall duration of time effect file size. So a 5 minute 16 bit 44.1khz file with silence will be the same size as a 5 minute wav file with an orchestra recording of many different instruments.

Perhaps you can have the Roland send out its internal metronome and not have to use the wav file metronomes at all.

Hi mate - and thank you for your reply....

Unfortunately the way i am using the pads does not allow the internal click to sync up!!

I have another quick query - how do i make the logic tracks mono when they are bounced? It seems more memory available if tracks are mono - but doesnt give me an option when bouncing.....
