jster
So how do you do it? I can do it, but I wonder if I'm doing it correctly. What's the easiest way to do it? Thanks
Jordi Torres
There's basically two ways: -Click the Instrument slot of a software instrument channel strip and go down and into the "AU Instruments" submenu. -Save a channel strip setting or a patch that includes the instrument. Now you can load it from the library. but I wonder if I'm doing it correctly If you're getting results you're doing it correctly. J.
jster
Thanks Jordi, You left out a couple of steps though in your first way and it is those missing steps that I was mostly interested in. Is that your final answer? Thanks for the save idea, I will add that to my "repertoire".

Is that your final answer? Not sure what left-out steps you're referring to? "Find the instrument you're looking for inside the AU Instruments submenu and load it"? J. jster
Here is how I see it. 1) Create Software Track. This will have a default piano. 2) Remove the first Bus. 3) Remove the second Bus. 4) Go to Mixer and delete the first Aux track. 5) Go to Mixer and delete the second Aux track. 6) Replace the default piano with the third party instrument. Is there a simpler way?
Eric Cardenas
1) Uncheck Open Library when you create a new Software Instrument Track.
Jordi Torres
1) Uncheck Open Library when you create a new Software Instrument Track. Exactly, my steps assume you have "Open Library" unchecked. J.
jster
Thanks Eric! OK, that is what I have wanted. You see, I have a large number of projects and I need to go back and delete a bunch of Aux tracks that were created by that default piano but transferred to my third-part instruments. Atlas007
You could make the default patch loaded to be empty (or pre-configured differently), thus saving you the "uncheck the Open Library" step...
