iucakeov
Hi everyone Has anyone had the issue of having a track that is stereo but plays mono. The two circles are on, but the actual visual display is not split, it shows and plays mono. The track I am using is stereo. I've solved this in the past by creating a new track and copying the region into the newly created stereo track. But this time when I dragged, the initially split visual stereo tracks turns into a mono track. Again, it's still a stereo track at the very bottom, with two circles displaying. Thoughts? Eriksimon
Any mono plugins inserted perhaps? It could also be a graphical glitch. Does the track sound stereo? If not, did it use to or was it a 'double mono' to begin with? Does saving, closing and reopening the project alter anything?
iucakeov
Thanks for the response Erik. It seems like it is fixed now. Not sure what it was. I did restart the computer, and also did a re-freeze too.
iucakeov
Hi Erik, looks like problem reappeared. I couldn't solve the issue but the way I did resolve it by creating a new stereo track, if however I did copy/paste channel strip settings, it would sometimes take it back to mono (and I couldn't change that). But if I dragged the plugins, then it was fine, but I would need to make the plugin "stereo". Anyways, I wonder if there is some "switch" behind the scenes where this stereo option gets defined or is this some odd glitch?

iucakeov
I noticed that even with the old track being switched to stereo, some of the plugins wouldn't have only the mono option to choose from. I'll double check this again when I run into this problem. Thanks!
Eric Cardenas
A screenshot of your channel would help. There is no hidden switch. There must be something simple that we are missing.
iucakeov
Yes! That's the culprit, all the plugins have to me stereo, even the disabled ones. thanks triplets!
iucakeov
Just saw your post too Eric, thanks, yah, it's the plugins that we messing it up!
iucakeov
In fact, it's actually really smart what Logic did, this is not a bug at all, if a stereo channel appears mono, it's an indicator that one of the plugins is still in mono mode. Right?

Right? Correct. A lot of issues are pilot error, not the app.
