Kelly Moore
Playing back single track with one additional short track near the end and everything stops and displays the following error message: Disk is too slow or system overload Please advise. Eric Cardenas
Can you see if it is the CPU meter that's spiking or if it's the disk meter? What is your IO buffer size set to? Try 512 samples for starters.
Kelly Moore
Hi Eric. Thanks for your reply. For some reason I never got a notification of it. Also not entirely sure what I did to find my post and this message. The forum is still tricky for me to understand. Can't seem to easily locate anything. At any rate, I changed the buffer size to 512 as you suggest and it still stalls out. Same error message. I don't know how to look at CPU meter or disk meter? Can use all the help I can get. Again, thanks.
Eric Cardenas
HI Kelly. A notification should arrive if you check the notifications box in the Editor where you typed your question. You can enable notifications as default by navigating through the boards User Control Panel: User Control Panel > Board preferences > Edit posting defaults If you double click on the CPU/HD Meter in the Custom LCD no the Control Bar you'll get a floating meter of all your CPU cores and your Disk I/O. Hope this helps, Eric
gdoubleyou
Do you have your projects on an external hard drive? Also be aware that the default hard drive in that model is a relatively slow 5400 rpm.
Kelly Moore
Eric and G-Dub, Thanks both for your suggestions. 1. I was able to fix the notification issue. It had changed for some unknown reason. Should be receiving them again now. 2. Found the CPU and I/O meters and watched before, during and after the stop. No change in meters. 3. G-Dub, not sure which you're referring to about slowness, but on other songs I've had several tracks running without any difficulty and this is basically one track with a short punch in on a separate track, which is exactly where it stops. I'm thinking that since it's such a small project I should just start over and rebuild. Suggestions? Thanks
Kelly Moore
OK, I deleted the offending punch-in, the track works, I reworked that section, and it's fine. Must have been something defective in the punch-in track. Thanks all for your help.
Kelly Moore
I don't know how to show this topic as finished. Please advise. Thanks.
Eriksimon
There should be an Edit button on all your posts, including the first in this thread. If you click that you can also edit the title of the topic, and add the word [solved] to it.

Kelly Moore
Unfortunately it appears to have returned. I replaced the audio track which was an mp3 that I dragged into the track. A friend informed me it's much better to import than drag. Seemed to fix it, but a few days later the problem returned. So...any suggestions? triplets
Create a new project and use the selective import from the project browser?
Kelly Moore
Sorry. Been out gigging. Finally have a chance back at this. Can you please explain what you are saying. I did create a new project and imported the track from an mp3 that I loaded in from a CD. Is that different than what you are saying. I also experienced this with another project. triplets
Can you please explain what you are saying Maybe this helps: Once you choose the project to import: Select the track and contents or plugins you want and click Add.
