artificial
Hi, I have several drum takes, each with about 9 tracks, in folders. I am trying to create a comp by cutting and pasting folders as shown in the screen shot. But using this method, how do you create cross-fades (5:1)? Or how would I do it another way? David Nahmani
You can't cross fade folders. You could unpack the folders and crossfades the regions inside, or bounce the folders to audio and crossfade the resulting audio files, or use volume automation inside the folders... artificial
Ok thanks. I have four takes of 9 tracks each. What do you think is the best workflow? Should i chop up the folders, then unpack when I'm ready to cross fade? Or unpack all the takes first?
David Nahmani
I would probably chop up the folders then unpack and crossfade what needs crossfading.
artificial
Working with folders seems a bit harder than working with chopped up audio… For example, with audio you can expand and contract and clip from either the beginning or the end. With folders, it seems, the only move you have is to shorten it from the end. Is there a setting or a work around for this?
artificial
OK so I have all the folders lined up! I'm wondering what's the most effective workflow from here? The lined-up folders are in a project called Drum Edit. The Main Mix is in a different project. Should I unpack the folder and do the fades in Drum Edit, then move the comped tracks over the the Main Mix?
