Jmonero
Whenever I try to use the drum replacement in Logic X it always puts the MIDI data about 1/2 a second too late even when I make adjustments. This means I have to manually adjust the timing of the MIDI track to be level with the audio recording. I'm not sure if this is a bug for my Logic or not because I've seen it work perfectly on other Logic users work.
David Nahmani
Is your project start marker at 1 1 1 1? Could you post a screenshot? Click this link to your signature and add your system information: • Logic version and sub-version (e.g. Logic 10.0.7) • OS X version and sub-version (e.g. OS 10.9.3) • Computer (e.g. MacBook, Mac Pro, iMac) • Processor (e.g. 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) • Memory (e.g. 2GB) • Audio interface manufacturer and model (e.g. Presonus AudioBox USB) • MIDI Controller manufacturer and model (e.g. M-Audio Axiom Pro 49) (most of that information can be found by choosing Logic Pro X > About Logic Pro X, and > About This Mac)
Jmonero
As you can see the MIDI data occurs well after the transients attack. • Logic version: Logic 10.0.7 • OS X version: OS 10.9.5 • Computer: iMac • Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 • Memory: 8GB • Audio interface manufacturer and model: Komplete Audio 6, Native Instruments • MIDI Controller manufacturer and model: Novation Impulse 49 (when connected, but is currently not)
David Nahmani
Please add your system info to your signature (the link to your signature is in my previous post) so we can easily see it from any of your posts - thank you. I cannot see your project start marker on your screenshot, is it before 1 1 1 1?
Jmonero
Ahh my apologies it appears you have to open the screenshot in a new tab to view the whole image, but yes it does begin at 1 1 1 1.
David Nahmani
I did see the full screenshot, but it looks like your project marker might be before 1 1 1 1... just to make sure: if you press "Rerturn", does the playhead go to (or stay on) 1 1 1 1, or does it move to the left? Jmonero
In the screenshot it doesn't, but that was only after I had moved it back to 0 1 1 1 purely to see if that made any difference to the drum replacement.
David Nahmani
If you bring that same audio file in a new empty project and try drum replacement, does it work as expected?
Jmonero
Yes it works perfectly, so I'm under the assumption that there is something wrong with the project itself?
David Nahmani
Yes it sounds like somehow the project you're working in might have some form of corruption. You could try reimporting all the tracks in a new empty project template to see if that resolves the issue.
