Jordi Torres
Curiously, the Apple effects are available in Logic Pro X 10.1 but the Midi effects are not? Where are you looking for them? They're only available on software instrument channel strips, just above the instrument slot. J.
toloop
Midi plug-ins are not available for software instruments when I click on the "Midi FX" just above the Instrument channel strip -> 'No Plug-ins"?
Jordi Torres
Midi plug-ins are not available for software instruments when I click on the "Midi FX" just above the Instrument channel strip -> 'No Plug-ins"? Strange, have not seen that myself and can't think of anything that could cause that. Can you provide a screenshot of that? J.

Jordi Torres
Weird! Do you get that in any project? Even in the factory project templates that come with Logic Pro X? J.

Jordi Torres
OK, I would definitely try quitting Logic and trashing its preference file. J.
toloop
I trashed all the prefs files related to Logic and the problem remains the same. The PSTs for the Midi FX plug-ins appears to be installed ( see attachment ) Edited June 1, 2015 by toloop
Jordi Torres
Did this started happening out of the blue? Were you able to use them before at some point? Next I would try creating a new user account in OSX and running Logic from there to see if the problem persists. If it does, I would trash the Logic apd and reinstall it. J. toloop
Midi FX plug-ins are available for the other users...Root and another user account with admin rights. Permission issue on my account?
toloop
The account where the Midi FX are not available was the one that I used when I have upgraded from Logic 9 to Logic X.
Jordi Torres
Problematic user accounts can be tricky to troubleshoot. I've seen cases where junk in the user preferences folder caused problems, but that's not always the case. This might apply to your case: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-rebuild-a-user-account-in-os-x/ J.
toloop
Thanks for the tip Jordi. I tried this potential solution but the Midi FX plug-ins are still not available using my account.
Jordi Torres
Hi, You should probably consider creating a fresh new account for your user. Either that or continue to troubleshoot your current account. J.
toloop
I just noticed that 'Instruments' are also not available ( see picture ). Curiously, instruments and Midi FX are set and available when I use a Logic template ( For example : New -> Software Instruments -> Electronic ) I re-installed Logic Pro X and it didn't help. I can surely use another account on my computer but it's a drag. I noticed that the 'Plug-in Manager' doesn't acknowledge most plug-ins. There's a pop up saying that that there's a compatibility problem? I don't have this issue with the other user accounts on my computer. toloop
Here the Plug-in Manager Pop-up with my user account. I believe this problem occurred when I upgraded to Logic Pro x 10.
