jacenty
I have recently got MAutoVolume plugin, which works pretty much like waves vocal rider. One of the features is that you can send all instruments as a sidechain to the plugin, and it will ride the vocal according to that, to make sure it stays on top. I've setup my session for all instrument tracks to send audio to bus 60 and used that as side chain. However, it looks like this causes the vocal to have quite a big delay that is not being compensated (I do have the setting set to 'All' in Logic's preferences). Confirmed same behavior in Waves Vocal Rider. What are your experiences with this?
chillywilly
I just discovered the same thing with Waves Vocal Rider. Darn! NOTE: I haven't noticed it when using C1 with a sidechain, which I do plenty, but now I'm suspicious that it's there too and just not as noticeable because C1 isn't as processor intensive. Just a guess. I don't know of a way to compensate for this delay, so I'm disabling the sidechain in VR. Too bad, because I would like to use it. Janne
Same here problems with vocal rider- latency compensation is crooked. This 9.1.7 is becoming a disaster. (cpu spikes and now also this) REported this issues via feedback, but as usual it will take a while until they solve this issues-or if they solve them at all. Im reverting back to 9.1.6 so Ill be able to finish the material I'm working on currently.- which happens to be massive vocal leveling and editing work Regards J
chillywilly
Is this just with 9.1.7? I just got Vocal Rider, so I didn't experience this problem before.

I use the 64 and 32 bit versions.(Im on Lion 10.7.3) Also Ive tried it with Reaper(64/32 bit) and the delay compensation works normally. chillywilly
Damn. I'm not even sure how I would go back in time in updates. Have you reported this issue to Apple? Thanks so much for the info.
