Any recommendations for a drum plugin?

Postby Macavity224 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 7:06 pm

Preferably something free, but I'm open to all options. Just don't want to shell out the money for superior drummer, and I don't really like any of the sounds that I've been getting out of Ultrabeat.

Acoustic or electronic kits?

Just sounds or step-sequencing too?
Zappa is not dead, he just smells funny.

Sorry should have specified. Acoustic kits preferably (trying to make drum parts for a metal band). I'd prefer to have sequencing too, but if there's a way to get a soundbank of some better sounding kits to get loaded into Ultrabeat, I wouldn't even mind to continue using that.

Thanks.

Here's the best free samples I've seen: viewtopic.php?p=301388#p301388

This kit for EXS is very cheap, but probably not all that suited to metal: http://www.puremagnetik.com/index.php?o ... Itemid=156

But, haven't heard any free sample sets that sound all that convincing to be honest.

If you don't have the cash for Superior, how about EZ-Drummer?

you could check out addictive drums; the demo is fully-functional (of course, the best sets are in the paid version). but a place to start...
