Does the Akai MPC Studio work well w/Logic X?

Recommended Posts

Was thinking about possibly investing in one of these, but wasn't sure if it's a workflow killer in Logic X or if it's pretty seamless.. I'd basically like to play out an initial beat, and then split the midi information to separate tracks so I can do individual processing.. I know that the Akai MPC Studio has some kind of software that I guess you have to use with it, but is there any way around that where I could just do it directly in Logic itself? Would love to hear some feedback if anybody's got any on this product.. Thanks!

I have used Akai samplers 3200, 2800, Akai MPC 2000, all that stuff during the 90th.

I had the MPC for live-acts. I never really used it on productions. Some old school people say that the sequencer has it's own groove but I never really felt it because the setup and the workflow was a pain in the ass. I would never go back. EXS24, Logic, et voilà.

just my view :-)
