How do I program drum rolls like this?

I'm not sure if its a tom or a conga but it sounds like one drum sequenced to taste going down in pitch with each hit?

Yeh -

1:19 - sound's like an 808 tom

1:27 - Are you refering to the snare or the pitched tom in the back ground ?

To do these fill's just load a single tom / conga sound into the EXS - then edit it and make sure the pitch range is all the way up, then program in your fill...

1:27 same the tom / conga pretty sure he's using beat repeat on the snares / kicks

yeh if it's the conga / tom you're referring to then the same method will apply -

load 1 sample into the EXS

Set the pitch range to the whole keyboard

Program in the drum fill

attached a file with an 808 tom fill...if that's what you were talking about then the above steps should get you there.

ha... just to see if i was on the same page -

To make an EXS instrument quickly from a sample in the arrange page use shortcut - CTRL E

if there's a sound i want to use from another EXS instrument ill generally bounce in place (CTRL B) then convert to exs inst (CTRL E) then it's good to go ( after you've set the Key range to the lowest and highest values in the EXS Editor)

Ah good to know while were on the topic any ideas on how he's creating those snare sounds, and making the hi hats go absolutely crazy towards the end of the song I'm thinking its just extreme use of beat repeat, although there could be other methods
