ROYALEFATALE
Any setting to change pitch in the EXS24 without the length of the sample being affected?
David Nahmani
Not directly in the EXS24, no. But you can do that in the sample editor's Time and Pitch machine....: EXS24 Sampler - No tempo change desired [sOLVED]
rhys
When I wanted to do this before I got around it like this, easier if you only got an octave or so a bit impractical for a load of samples. Basically... I loaded my sampler up with the one sample. Spread across an octave. Recorded all notes played from the exs24 consecutively. Bounced the region in place. Cut each one out, this bit is crucial you get right or they will be out of tune, if tuning is an issue you can adjust with the fine tune in the exs24 editor page, it affects the length a little but its not noticeable. I then flex timed the pieces back to the length of the original sample. Finally loaded back into exs24 to me it was a little quicker than the time pitch machine. David Nahmani
That's a great solution, thanks for sharing it rhys. Flex also uses better algorithms than the time and pitch machine, so it has the added benefit of sounding better.

This was the bit I wasn't sure of, I knew it sounded ok but wasn't sure if the pitch machine was better as I don't use it very often...well not at all since flex time appeared. So its been a while.
