My second...(re-mixed)

Postby iMacCartney » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:45 am

Hi.

This is one of my first production that I have made in early 00's (or ever  ) with Logic 3. I imported audio files to Logic 9 and then began a tough job as there were more than 80 audio files/region and had to find the original positions for all of those(thanks David + other guys for the advices), had to re-record some instruments as those files were missing or corrupted. The arrangement and everything else is just as they were when recorded more than 10 years ago. There were a lot of level changes in these audio files so it made mixing veeeeeery difficult. This song doesn't actually represent the music style that I have made but.....well, hope you'll enjoy and give me some feedback, thanks.

Really nice chord progression! And that four against three rhythm thing you've got going there is pretty cool.

Chord progression and vocals remind me of Thomas Dolby (who I like a lot).
My only comment is that the arrangement is thick all of the time, and maybe could use a thinner texture at some point.

Thank you kingstonmike. I agree with you, it's too thick - especially in chorus and in the end. I realised that too when mixing but didn't want to make big changes as this was the my old production from early 00's so I just wanted to keep it like it was :D

Hi, I just made a new mix of this "old" song. I wanted it to be more open, smoother and less compressed. I'd appreciate any kind of feedback, thanks. :D
