Friend

Hi everyone

 

This is my first serious go at recording, mixing and mastering in Logic Pro X. Im not a great singer but I have done my best to put as pro a recording together as possible. It is a mix of folk and dance, with some guitars on top. I would be very interested in any feedback on the production quality. Thanks in advance for taking the time to listen.

Interesting indy creation. I auditioned it from my iPad on earbuds.

Definition is clear, no muddiness noted. 

Some element using effective stereo positioning enhancing its liveliness. Have you checked possible correlation issues in some places? The guitar solo was somewhat a little too prominent to my taste.

Considering that your creation is meant to be a dance type of musical piece, I would have emphasize the bass by positionning it in the middle, but that is a profane judgment call, I guess...

I like the pre recorded speech playback à la Pink Floyd! 

Huge thanks for responding and for the positive comments. Not sure what you mean by correlation issues as Im a beginner...? Other people have mentioned the panning on the bass but I am a bit torn. On the chorus it is dead centre. Thanks again!

Reading this thread about correlation from macProVideo website forum could give you some interesting insight...

Oh lord, I just added the gain as suggested in the thread with mono output and it sounds completely different...that has open up a whole new world of problems...
