alexSF
Hi, Our drummer plays to a click, so I know the BPM exactly. However, when I play an effect with a heavy tremolo etc, although the bpm is set for that set, the effect does not start in SYNC with the. Note, the effect bmp is correct. I guess what I'm trying to say is the phase is out of sync - obviously because what MainStage thinks is the 1st beat is different from what is being played by the rest of the band. Any suggestions how I can get this in sync? Obviously, I don't want to try tap-temp because I already have the exact BPM dialed in. On other hardware synths, you can start LFO effects when a key is struck. This doesn't seem to be an option with MainStage. Does anyone have any workarounds / solutions to this? Thanks, Alex Edited October 15, 2009 by alexSF
Robert Wilson
Setting the BPM for any given patch should then transfer to your effects when you select that patch.
RedBrooklyn
did you; - choose the "sync" option in the plugin? - set the tempo for the patch? - try "command, option, forehead?
alexSF
I realized that my question wasn't totally clear so I've edited my post. Of course I have the BPM set correctly. However, the effect is still not in sync with the rest of the band. Please would you guys re-read my edited post and offer suggestions if you have them. Thanks! Robert Wilson
I can only guess that the click track might be starting on the off-beat. I have similar issues with some of my backing tracks and have had to create ultrabeat patterns starting at position 2, 3 or 4, instead of 1. (Dunno if that makes sense.) alexSF
Hi, Unfortunately I'm not running the click track. That is coming from another band member's Mac that is also running MainStage. Is there some way to connect and sync them both? Alex

honeyshape
I'd like to know the answer too. What we want is the LFO's, trems etc to be Key Synced rather than the internal clock. I've been trying to change the LFO in the ES2 to key sync with no joy yet....
tykunze
try having a computer run logic and transmit midi clock. at concert level, within your mainstage, check the box that says receive midi clock
