kw1958
Folks, Total MainStage newbie here. I have lots of amps, guitars, effects etc. Usual guitarist setup. I have a unibody Macbook Pro 2.66 GHz. What do I hook my computer up to if I want to use MainStage? How do I do it? (What cables etc). Can I play through my own amps or is it meant to go through a PA? Anyway I think I have asked the same question 3 times in this note so I will stop now. Thanks in advance, KW PS I am happy to receive an answer in the form of a link. If you want to use foot controllers and/or mic (guitar) preamps, you may need to invest in an Interface. Specify in detail what you want to do and specific details can be given. marksat
I have a unibody MBP 13" (purchased in December) and I just got an Alesis MultiMix USB mixer to use with my Roland RD300-GX stage piano and Mainstage (in a live setting). The mixer uses the USB connection to the laptop for sound input AND output (Note: there is no knob for the laptop sound other than the master out knob). I will gig with it tomorrow, but it seems to be a perfect solution for my small setup (just the stage piano and the laptop) - the mixer is small and sits nicely atop my monitor (and reduces the runs I need to make to our main mixing board). You can also use the mixer to do home recording (I think that is its main purpose). Here is the link (I got mine at Guitar Center for $79): https://www.alesis.com/multimix4usb
