Soundtrack Pro Issues...

Postby Johnny-Boy » Wed Jul 11, 2012 5:26 am

Hi,

I hope someone can help me here.

I took a wav file mix from Logic Pro 8 and loaded it into Soundtrack Pro. Did some editing there (eliminating pops, clips, etc) and saved it as a wav file. The wav file plays on both my Mac (Quick Time Player) and PC (Winamp). However, when I loaded it on Audio Sparx website I received this message "Track Codec Problem". Not sure what's happening because I never had problems loading wav files there before.

Is there a proper way to "save as" in Soundtrack Pro? I'd like to keep the wav file from Logic Pro intact, but with the Soundtrack Pro edits.

Also, I didn't notice any mp3 "save as" in Soundtrack Pro.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Best, John :)

Okay, probably because I didn't open up Soundtrack Pro within a Logic project. So my next question... Can I open up Soundtrack Pro within a Logic project and just include the stereo mix (not all the separate tracks). If I can, how do I do that. I noticed the Soundtrack Pro link wasn't active in my Logic project. Do I have to select sometrhing first?

You'd have to bounce the mix first, then open it in STP.

Yeah, that's what I did. Then I had the codec and tempo issues.

Maybe convert it again in Logic? As in: once opened in STP, processed and saved, go back to Logic, select the audio region in the Arrange area and choose Audio > Convert Regions to New Audio File.

Thanks David, I'll try that. I'll have to take it back in the project it came from. If I open a fresh project, it plays at half tempo.

Check the sample rate of your file? Make sure it's the same as the sample rate of your Logic project.

So did it help to convert to a new audio file in the original Logic project?
