vocal comp gone and regions weirdly split up

Postby camillo jr » Mon Aug 20, 2012 9:32 am

I opened up a session today and found one of the vocal comps had got messed up. There is no comp displayed in the top lane and the various regions below that make up the comp now have gaps all over the place where before they were contiguous regions, stacked over each other. Now they look like my attachment. It's as if the swipes got transferred to the regions below. At any rate, I can't use it because it also sounds messed up. Any idea on how this happened?

To fix this mess, I had to unpack the take folder, pull out all the regions back to their original length and start over with a new comp.

 Don't know what happened there... but... to repair the situation you might have imported that comp track from an earlier auto backup version of your project.

...the rest I sort of forgot, but it was a really awesome quote!

Yeah, I was just wondering what I might have done to create that..... in the end it worked to just start over with the comp as well as moving the take folder to a new track in case the channel itself was corrupted (I've had that happen two or three times now).

Thankfully, comp editing is so intuitive now that it wasn't a huge deal to fix it.
