Psy-fi Posted September 30, 2014 Share Posted September 30, 2014 hi fellows i have my old daw (mid 2009 15" macbook pro) with a Disk i/o error. the hdd needs to be replaced, i've found a very mnice deal for a replacement hdd the problem is that the cdr drive is totally broken and it can be booted with the original disk when replaced i want if possible to avoid the expensive apple service (they charge about 80€ per hour) thanks J. triplets Posted October 2, 2014 Share Posted October 2, 2014 Did you have a chance to create a disk image of the operating system's disk? That way you can create a bootable USB flash drive. Otherwise you would have to upgrade to Mavericks, which is free, and is download only thru the App Store. But then you're Logic 8 is not gonna work. Or buy the external USB Superdrive.
