Demo Songs

Postby completeidiot23 » Tue Sep 15, 2009 5:58 am

Hey Guys

I just got Logic Express 9, and was checking out the demo songs.

I had a look at the Lilly Allen song, and was wondering. Was all the effect processing done in Logic?

Or when they recorded did they go through external processing, then done further processing with the Plug-ins?

What are your suggestions?

You might get clues by critical listening; solo the track and disable any Logic plug-ins. Hear ambience, delays, modulation, eq:like changes, yes then external gear was used and the final audio was recorded into a Logic audio track.

I honestly haven't even looked at that track, but I'd be willing to bet that they didn't just hook up a few SM57 to a MOTU 828 and recorded in her home studio. Those tracks are professionally recorded, meaning that they most probably had access to great sounding rooms and booths, great collections of mic, mic preamps, outboard gear, 3rd party plug-ins etc.

Yeah i was thinking that some processing would of been done before hand.

Also i can imagine that they had great mics, and preeamps, with a great sounding room.

There was an article in SOS magazine recently described exactly how "the fear" was recorded and mixed.

No, those projects are the property of Apple and it would be illegal to distribute them on our forum. If you own Logic Studio then you'll find the projects on the "demo content" DVD.

Have you had a look at http://www.apple.com/logicpro/in-action/kurstin/?

Edit: oops. Didn't notice the date on the original post.... sorry...

So the LogicPro on the software store doesn't have any demo tracks included?
