Logic 9 Roland U220 Environment

Hi, i have a Roland U220 which i would like to use in Logic 9.
could you please guide me through the setup to get Logic to list the preset names of the U220 so i don't have to change them manually.

Open this project and copy the U220 multi-instrument object. Paste it into the MIDI Instruments layer of your project templates and set the port in the inspector. You should be good to go.

Thanks Fader8, but please explain in more detail how to do this.
I looked for your U220 multi-instrument object in your project but couldn't find it, where do i look?
How do i Paste it into the MIDI Instruments layer of my project templates?

Sorry, hadn't realized screenset 1 had been locked in that project file. I've updated the file so download it again.

When this project opens, you should see the environment window only, containing the U220 object. Select it and copy it. Close the project.

Open your project. Open the Environment window. Select the MIDI Instruments layer. Paste the object there. Set its MIDI port to match where you have the synth plugged in.

In the Arrange, create an external MIDI track. The instrument will be selectable in the library pane.

Fader8, I'm nearly there, I have the U220 showing up now,what I would like is to get the U220 sound banks to show so I can select a sound through Logic. I can see a lot of preset names, but I think that it's showing me general midi.

Well, I found another one in the bowels of my collection. It has different patch names. Try it. You never know with these old files.

Hi Fader8, we have U220 in view with presets available, but when we select a different sound, nothing changes therefore we can only change sounds manually by going to the sound module and pressing buttons.
We would be very grateful for anymore help you are able to provide.

Very likely you need to go into its own MIDI setup and enable the channel it will receive patch changes on, or to enable external control at all.

Were those newest patch names the right ones?

As an aside... The U20 was the first "Sample Playback" synth I ever got to try out. I was given a late prototype to fiddle with as part of my job at the time...

Someone heard me doing a brief demo of it at at a local music store one night and I ended up doing a 3 month cruise ship gig for really, really good money, 'honking' away using the "Sax" and blasting out "BrassSection" riffs.... (Presets A63 and A62 if I recall correctly) for a Motown Covers band........ Their main keyboard player was not impressed ..... mainly because I was earning more money than him I suspect..

Hi,
Does anyone have any Various Multis/ Environments for the Roland MKS 70, MKS 50, P330 on Logic 9?
I would very much appreciate any assistance one could offer.
