EXS24 not playing 1 shot samples in Mono mode? [FIXED]

Hey

Since upgrading to 9.1.4 the EXS24 is no longer playing 1 shot samples while in Mono mode.

It still works in Poly though.

Can we get a confirmation in this, I want report it to apple if someone can verify its happening on their machine.

1. Put a sample of audio into fresh EXS instrument and click "1-shot"

2. Trigger sample and verify thats its playig in "1-shot" mode

3. Change the EXS from "Poly" to "Mono" mode on the front panel of the EXS GUI (Not in the instrument editor)

4. Re trigger the sample and its not longer "1-shotting"

Returning the EXS to ply mode corrects the issue.

This is a nasty bug and a lil frightening to me as why are they messing with the EXS?

Let me know if someone can recreate this bug so I can submit to apple. Accidentally changing one of the basic functions to core instruments that have worked correctly since before apple bought the code is not OK.

Experiencing the same issue since the 9.1.4 update, had posted about the same issue before i came across your post! is there a way to revert back to 9.1.3. until this issue is fixed?

I Have a workaround..

Put the EXS in Poly and drag down the number of voices until it reads 1.

This simulates the mono behavior but leaves it in poly mode. Works here.

OR

You can go into the instrument and group all the samples and set the voice count to 1.. this means re-saving the insts tho..

MDOT it you need the 9.1.3 installer let me know and Ill sendspace it to you.

Does anyone know if Logic will release a bug fix or do those of us who don't have 9.1.3 backups have to live with this problem? Cause I know it's a huge problem for me, and the workaround is kind of a bitch.

i do hiphop music and this bug is devastating ....
sure u can attempt to set ur group to Poly 1 ...but still screws up my original workflow of just "select all" ..then click one shot! mono and i'm set!

glad it's confirmed...

i'm going to drag out my external harddrive and do a system restore so i can go back to the 9.1.3 days SMH!

i'm extremely upset at this bug...just because EXS24 is the most important instrument in Logic... most logic users use the hell out of EXS24 so wouldn't you think developers would double check and make sure EVERYTHING IS WORKING FINE IN EXS24 ... SMH!

i don't know if i'll upgrade to LION if this bug isn't fixed...because i know for sure that the LION is going to probably automatically update Logic Pro to 9.1.4.... smh....

i feel like it was lazy on apple's part to rush out an update (9.1.4) just to show off the iPad feature ...smh

It's a pretty silly mistake like everyone said. I've only had logic for about a month as well my axiom 25 and was just starting to figure out my workflow and get back into the swing of things...

Question though: I actually purchased Logic through my school\ and got a huge discount. Only knock is that it came as "Academic", which on the box stated that I could not get updates to Logic...Does that only apply to updating from, for example, Logic 9 to Logic 10 when that comes out? Cause I did get the update to 9.4.

As you have found out, you can update..not a problem. But if you want to upgrade to Logic 10 whenever it comes out, you'll have to pay the full price.

Seems to be fixed in 9.1.6.
Have not tested it yet but it's in the Release notes.
