Main Stage with more than one user on stage?

Postby coverman » Wed Oct 19, 2011 11:57 pm

I'm planning to use Main Stage in a project where there a lot of backtrack loops.
I'm have never used Main Stage before, but I'm a Logic user, so I guess it will be easy to move over for live performance.
But the plan is to have all five band members to be able to see what's going on during the song, so I want to have monitors visible to all band members.
Is it possible to run Main Stage on one computer (like a Mac Book) and then connect monitors for the others to see what's going on, so the band can follow the display when it changes during the song (showing parts or waveform blocks or whatever).

Any ideas? Anyone using Main stage for more than one user?

Q2. Is it possible to have lyrics rolling on the display as well? I was reading the manual the other day (well looked through it briefly). But it would be great to have lyrics following the track, instead of notes on paper.

Of course it would be easier to learn lyrics or changes in songs, instead of all these things I'm asking about, but the project is pretty much changing and might change from gig to gig, so it would be nice to have this help on stage.

As far as I know, mS cannot scroll lyrics as a karaoke, but it can display the full lyric sheet. As for multiple monitors, I guess it can, but I don't know how. I'd think this would have to do more with the system more so then MS, so probably VGA or mini display is the way to go. Anyone else have ansers? I have done screen sharing but that's another thing.

The multiple monitor setup is a computer issue more than a Mainstage-specific one. I think that there are switch box and splitters out there - try at Cable to Go or another on-line cable vendor, they should have that.
