Logic Pro 9 - WAV to Apple Loops without A.L.Utility

Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:57 am

I have a big WAV/acid loop collection (called Vinylistics) I want to add to the Logic Pro 9 loop browser.

Out of hundreds of WAV loops, only 4 are recognized as loops by Logic.
(Not sure what the reason is, the arrange window reads all of it, the loop browser only recognizes 4.
Only thing I can think of - Ones that are OK have even lenghts: i.e. "2 0 0 0" , bad ones are uneven in length, i.e. "1 3 2 127.")

Extensive googling has lead me to believe that I need to use "Apple Loops Utility" to convert my WAV loops into Apple Loops.
BUT, I have the standalone Logic Pro 9, which comes WITHOUT the Apple Loops Utility, apparently.
(And I don't think there are any places I can download/buy AFAIK.)

So I'm stuck.
But I NEED to get started with this project, using this loop collection.

Someone. Please. Help.

Loopeditor http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/loopeditor/,
apparently cannot do batch convert?

I have hundreds of loops I need to convert / sort out.

Anyone know where I can get Apple Loops Utility now?

You can download the Apple Loops Utility SDK directly from Apple. You need to register as a Developer, if you have not done that yet choose the free register option.

Here's the link. Just make a search for loop!

Looks like it does, no?

Feature List
Batch export Apple Loops & ACID files

Scroll down to "Export Files":

I apologize for resurrecting this thread, but David linked me here–

I'm looking to download Apple Loops Utility from the Apple Dev site. I've just registered as a dev and searched for loops within the site,
and I'll I found was this:

Can someone point me to where the actual program can be downloaded on this site?
thanks!

Log in and go here:

https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action

In other words: Member Center > Dev Centers > Mac > Downloads > View All Downloads. Then enter "loop" in the search field.

Found it!

my advice to people looking for this in the future is not to use the search field, but just uncheck irrelevant tags. Like so:
