Free Kontakt 4 Player - edit pitch bend?

Postby Rev. Juda$ Sleaze » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:26 pm

Hi all,

So, after looking at every menu I can't find any way to change the pitch bend range for BigFishAudio's London Solo Strings played in the free Kontakt 4 player. To be able to play with guitar through my Sonuus G2M, the default range of a fifth is too much, so:

1. Is there any way to change pitch bend amount if it isn't on the instrument front panel?

2. Could I fix this with the environment (I haven't touched the environment, save for an arp or two, since version 4.5 when I was using external midi modules, I was glad to see the back of it to be honest  )?

You can reduce (scale down) the value of pitch bend messages with a transformer. What do you want to lower the amount to (in semitones)?

• If an instrument is set to respond to pitch bend by +/- 7 semitones (5th up and down), this will reduce the values of pitch bend message values so that the resulting bend range is +/- 1 semitone.

Here ya go! Lemme know if you have any problems with it.

Gah!

Now my ancient midi-usb interface doesn't want to work, so I can't try it with my guitar :(

I tried it on my keyboard though, and that works great! I actually remembered the default bender range though, it's 2 semitones, not 5! But this reduced amount sounds perfect to me for wiggling vibrato.

Thanks so much! :D
