Funny, nobody came up with the right answer: no

so if a sound bounces into something else which in turn creates noise its the thing it bounces into that has made the noise and not the sound... ? the sound was merely a catalyst in some way, ? Or an echo - thats just the same sound in a different shape, ? what about additive synthesis or chords, are they there own sounds or merely a group of others, ?

i didn't really form a definite opinion.

Actually, the answer is most definitely yes.

Have you never laughed or sneezed next to an acoustic guitar and heard the strings resonate?

Interesting!

And now I think I spotted the term for sounds making sounds: "wave propogation" :D

Good ol' Harry Partch, glad he got a mention, I love that guy.

There is indeed, I heartily recommend reading Herman Hesse's "Siddhartha", it's not very long or difficult to read, and makes Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" look like a kid's book.

Oh-oh..... I read Siddhartha when I was a kid and The Alchemist as an adult. :)

I'd say the answer is yes in many situations....... Oliver Sacks makes the case for this on a purely mental level. If someone is in the right frame of mind and have been exposed to the same sound for a while, especially constant kind of sounds like a fridge compressor or lapping waves, you can begin to hallucinate (audio-ate?) new sounds that aren't there, hearing conversations or music in the noise.

Nah... I got all my heavy thinking done in my teens. I'm ready for some fairy tales now.

However, the local church is NOT happy about all the digging I'm doing in their back yard.

There are more fairy tales on You Tube. Just search the key words, 'Fairy Tales for children'.
