Um... Use it for what you bought it for..?

Or is this a trick question?

lyford wrote:I hope this means good things are afoot but I was just hoping to get more information about importing patch names from my CZ-230s since the manual is not very detailed... ah wells.

Importing patch names? That has nothing to do with Redmatica, or Autosampler anyway.

If you don't have sysex software, like SoundDiver, to import the MIDI sysex data from the synth (actually, thinking about it, Casio CZ synths don't even have patch names for user sounds so you can't even do that).

You'll likely have to enter the names for each patch you sample manually, unless you can find a patch listing online to copy/paste...

Thanks for the pointer beej about sysex and such - but I do have those lists already as text files. And to be honest, I did my last patch management for the CZs on my old Atari decades ago, so you're also right about the patch name not even being stored in the data itself...

The application works fine; it's just that all the support seems to have disappeared and wanted more specific information than the guide had to offer on the "Import Patch Names" function.

Autosampler seems to only bring in the first patch name and so I was trying to find more info on what I might have been doing incorrectly when I stumbled upon the hole in the internet where redmatica.com used to be. I did end up just pasting all the names one by one manually into Autosampler.

My posts were intended as a lament for the lack of support options now in this transition time rather than a call for a specific information. I don't want to hijack this thread with a detailed Autosampler question, too late I guess. :)

Oh - do you mean you'd like to be able to paste in a whole paragraph of names and have all the patches named in one go, rather than doing them one by one? Import patch names doesn't do much for me either, but I don't use AS that much so I'd have to have a play...

You could try asking over on the Redmatica forum too: http://www.macosxaudio.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=33

Edit: Ok I got it working - just prepend the patch numbers, e.g.:
0 patch
1 nicepad
2 happy bass

This brings in all the names as you'd expect.
Any decent text editor will let you edit in columns so it's an easy fix and should work for you...

Thanks beej that was the exactly missing info that I needed! :)

Also I didn't know there was another Autosampler forum (being such a new customer), I just assumed it was on the Redmatica site which is now not there anymore.

Once again, this board is a jewel of the internet!

Yeah - that is (was?) the kinda official unofficial forum, which was linked to from the Redmatica site and Andrea posted there regularly.

And there's always the Wayback machine which can be useful:

It was the "official" and only Redmatica forum. Other than direct support from them -- for registered users only, that was *the* place to go.

Their Youtube channel is still up.

I also missed the e-mail and the 3 week window to get the software. Now i can not install on my new computer. I called Apple's Logic Pro support. I talked with a real person, Joshua. He went and talked with the Logic/Audio engineers. Apples official position is that Redmatica is gone. The product that Andrea posted as the last version, is not their product and they can not provide any assistance. They recommended trying to get the latest copies from e user community.

I too would like to have a copy. I am also willing to host this on an ftp site until Apple does something.

Also, does anyone know if the latest version will install without trying to contact the nonexistant Redmatica.com site?

It's a simple serial number per application, per customer.

Ok, so I missed the deadline to get the stand alone AutoSampler installer. Does anyone still have it that could private message me with it?

Thanks,
