Vacuum Cleaner controlled by Modulation Wheel (EXS24)

Postby peachboy » Mon Jun 18, 2012 1:44 pm

Hi,

I was having fun with my vacuum cleaner today.

(No... not like that).

I was working on a racing game for a client and decided to swap the car engine noise for the sound of my vacuum cleaner (just for fun). The vacuum has an analog speed setting, so actually has the potential to function like an accelerator anyway. :)

So... I recorded 6 different speeds and created a little EXS24 instrument whereby the rotational/power of the vacuum is controlled by the modulation wheel. It's not exactly a work of art and the recording is relatively basic, but it could yield some interesting projects perhaps.

It's natural key is C3. Hope you like!

Thanks peachboy! It's always fun to sample non-musical "instruments"... love it. :D

You shouldn't post samples like that it makes people do silly things with them

see if you can spot your samples :D

Thanks, I was bored last night so set myself a challenge to see if I could use it in some way, the track is a bit ruff around the edges, nothing serious really but its a laugh I guess :)

Hey rhys, I really like that track a lot and the vacuum is a great touch! Nice work.

Cheers for the nice comments, I didn't want to hijack Peachboy's thread tho lol. I think I will carry on working on it and try to make different elements with the Hoover sound. I will post it in the listening booth when it's done :)
