Ashermusic
I open the Drummer plug-in , click on a preset and I get a message that I am missing content, do I want to download it. So I do. I wait until it is finished and "installing." When it appears to be done, I close Logic and start again. and the same thing happens. I swear this must be the third time I seem to be downlaoding the same content.
Ashermusic
OK now it wants to do this a 4th time. "Essential Instruments' ,"Drum Kits",etc. all theoretically downloaded after hours and I says that it is all being "installed" , progress bars and everything, and seemingky finishes. I quit Logic X, reopen it, open a new empty project, choose Drummer and it wants to do it all over again.

Ashermusic
Try repairing your disk permissions in Disk Utility. I tried that. Clearly, the material has been downloaded and installed. My suspicion is that it is installed either in the wrong place or or some reason, Drummer is just not linking to it.
Holger Lagerfeldt
I've re-installed it eight times now, actually it did it a ninth time when I just opened now. Hopefully it's done now... it's taken 1.5 days so far. Not a very cool installer. I don't think repairing disk permissions will help anything, but theoretically it could be a Spotlight problem. Perhaps give Spotlight some time to index.
gdoubleyou
I noticed that my internet traffic would drop to zero, I would get a Logic cannot complete file download message. Later in the evening on the west coast USA, I didn't have any issues downloading. I did have better success downloading smaller chunks, vs cueing all files. 8)
Ashermusic
Yes, apparently it may still be more content. Also, I have my Sampler Instruments and EXS samples on another drive that the Sampler Instruments alias in my user folder points to and now it wants it in the User > Music > Audio Music Apps folder. David T
I too was having hassles with the content downloads and I needed it on several macs. One way you can get around this is to download the installers. A neat trick is to copy these links into a text file and use Firefox with the DownThemAll add on. Open the the DownThemAll manager right click and import the text file and it will do it's thing. Hope this helps. David T
Just realised that it may not be easy for some to copy the above links and paste them into a text file for the Firefox & DownThemAll trick. So here's the text file. logicprox-content.txt.zip

David T
David T, where did you find those so I can tell people? Start the download of the content via Logic then close Logic and cancel the download. Use Finder to go to "/private/var/folders/" and find "com.apple.MusicApps" Using Text App you can see the link in the ".resumeDataMA" file. dogmann
I had the same problem a few days ago. I had to turn on Spotlight on my main drive. I had turned Spotlight off on all of my drives. Go into System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy and remove the main drive from the Prevent Spotlight from searching these locations. After I did that everything went smooth. Ashermusic
Thank you! This appears to be working really well. I reinstalled Logic Pro X and then started this. I assume the "skipped" files were in the basic install .If you like, pm me our address and I will send you autographed copies of my 2 Logic Pro books. Not that you probably need them. PKGuy323
Jay, After I installed LPX (clean install after removing all of LP9), I downloaded all of the additional content which I left as an overnight project. Your post prompted me to go check out DRUMMER and all the presets play just fine. No additional downloaded needed....at this point. Hope this helps too. ruari
Downloading all this additional content feels like it's taking forever, I started over 24 hours ago, have been told the downloads have failed about 6 or 7 times now & I've got no idea how much longer this is going to take me. Is there a way to check how much of the content is still left to download? I would have paid extra to Apple if I could have bought some physical discs, doing it this way is very frustrating. I left it downloading over night, but when I checked it this morning the downloads must have frozen at some point as according to activity monitor there was no network activity going on. All I could do was quit Logic and start again, choosing to resume download when prompted. I've apparently downloaded over 20GB of stuff since I began… EDIT: Finally, it's complete after 26+ hours
Ashermusic
So this is beyond weird. i can load any of the new drum kits in the EXS 24 and they play fine. So no missing content. I try to load the same kits in Drum Kit or Drummer and get the missing content message. If I tell it not to download, I play and all I hear are sine waves. Blue Monkey
This thread describing the problems that legitimate customers/users of software (legally purchased software) are having is exactly why I oppose "cloud"/download distribution of software (among other reasons). Please bring back physical distribution of the software/licenses. We should not have to go through hell to get to heaven when we paid the price of entry. Ashermusic
I used Time Machine to return my computer back to the day before I started with LP X and will start from scratch. Wish me luck.

Blue Monkey
It has been hell. If Apple adopts the same software distribution model as Adobe...look out! Daily hell. Downloading software is a big enough hassle but if you're an Adobe product user you probably know that after Adobe CS6 there is no physical distribution, no download distribution, just cloud "service" which you subscribe to. You pay every month wether you use the software or not. You must be connected to the internet to use all of the most current Adobe products. You never "own" a license. I know I don't have to explain the obvious problems that this poses for anyone trying to use Adobe software (or any software for that matter) to create anything. I don't like where this is going.
